This corner of Farringdon in East Central London is becoming quite well known for its high-end European dining scene, with several revered establishments flocking to the spot near the site of Smithfields Meat Market. The latest is St Barts, who bring a modern flair through the vision of Head Chef Kate Austen. A special set sampling menu is served for both lunch and dinner, and expect to find delicate and delicious dishes aplenty. From Poached oyster in green juice garnish to Wagyu and caviar, Crab mace nutmeg to Duck with berries. Chef Austen’s courses are a journey through the fresh and sublime, with a focus on healthiness.

At upscale new Indian restaurant Yaatra, in Westminster, Head Chef Chef Amit Bagyal is on to a winner with his luxurious and high-end take on his native cuisine. With a warm, relaxing ambience that is ideal for date nights, every dish here is a feast for the eyes, with flavours to match. Begin with decadent starters, like the Amritsari Prawn, a marinated, Tandoori-grilled king prawn with pepper bhajia and mint chutney, or the Coorg Beef Shukka, served with podi dusted fermented rice cake and flamed coconut.
