10/10We are regulars at the 1890 restaurant and we are never disappointed. The quality of food and choice is worth the reasonable set price. It’s nice to spoil yourselves.

5/10Food was cold, sausages especially. Reataurant was crwoded and we were told we only had a max 40 mins as they were fully booked. Not a great way to spend a relaxing Sunday morning. Surely the restaurant should be able to cope with a full hotel, if not, why not? Do not use Covid as an excuse, you have had 18 months to prepare!

4/10Buffet on Friday - poor choice and combination. Everything was bland and cold. Breakfast - good choice, croissants on Sunday were stale. I would not rush back to eat here.

6.5/10The greeter was super a lovely polite young lady. The food was okay - poached eggs amazing! The clearing of tables was okay - I didn't see any chairs wiped down between seating which was a bit disappointing seeing as there were so many other Covid procedures in place.

6/10It was pretty good except for the scrambled eggs and the congealed fried eggs which looked very unappealing. Vegetarian sausages need to be changed. You can get really good ones now like Richmond brand - not breaded. Please change them as well. Coffee ok and there were non dairy milks available so all in all not bad at all.

9.5/10I have a gluten intolerance and gave the restaurant this information when I booked online. At the table our waitress asked who required gluten free and without being prompted advised me which items I should avoid and offered GF toast. When the toast arrived there were also two chocolate brownies as a bonus. Finished plates were cleared from the table promptly. The standard of food was good with a wide range of options. The coffee machines delivered very good decaf. I have stayed in many hotels over the years and can honestly say this was one of the best breakfast experiences I have had. Highly recommended.

7/10The restaurant is in a beautiful room. We had a table for breakfast and we're greeted by the waitress, and then left to choose our own food from a very good selection. The food and drink options were good. I would have preferred a waiter to get the drinks for me rather than doing this myself, but it was still a good experience.

7.5/10The food was very nice, especially the quality of the poached eggs. Unfortunately, the coffee from the machines was VERY disappointing. Fresh Coffee and Pots of Tea on the table would be a welcome return based on past visits.

8/10I only experienced this restaurant for breakfast and, whilst the selection of food on offer was quite good, I cannot say the same for fruit juices ( no tomato ever available during the past 5 years ) The chef will make an omelette to order and that is a plus for me. Service is efficient and friendly but the room itself if so lacking in character, given its prime location in Brighton. No morning papers available ( surely not a Covid lame excuse again ) although it is too hot to want to spend time having a leisurely breakfast. I'm afraid I could not score it higher.

10/10The breakfast was just right so many options to choose. Considering all the problems we had with our room in the hotel, if it wasn’t for staff and breakfast we would not have stayed.
