Lovely food, quite slow even for freshly cooked, largely empty, Chicken fantastic, great and friendly staff. My only small criticisms are , speed up a little, clean your skylight and have the eyesore which is the out of order and falling apart air on unit over the kitchen removed and wall made good. It was right in my eyeline and I kept thinking something might drip or fall off into the food, which I’m sure it wouldn’t. I’ve been a customer for decades and really like the restaurant

Food was decent. Was disappointed by waiter who spilt bowl of tomato pasta on us whilst we were wearing white and forced us to pay service charge. Even though we asked to take it off we didn’t want to cause a scene and paid the fee and then waitress was talking about us to her colleagues. Not nice but food was lovely.

The food here is great. The ambiance is great. The table settings are great. The waiter Ryan is great.... But! Unless the owners acknowledge that the 'tall blonde waiter' is really doing the restaurant a disservice, this much loved local place will end up empty! If the food is a little off one night people won't mind, as long as they are looked after, spoken to respectfully and made to feel welcome. Unfortunately, feedback is consistent that not all diners are welcomed in this way at A Cena any more. Instead you get ignored for several minutes when you would like to order, requests go unfulfilled and whilst the charm is turned on for some diners it is very much turned off for others! It would take a lot to put me off coming here after being a fan for 20 years, but I do wish they'd pull their socks up!

Just a wonderful experience, this is the second time we have been as a group of five, the food is knockout, every dish beautifully presented and full of flavour. Even the drinks are superb quality. The staff are so pleasant, wonderfully discreet but always available. I can’t thank you enough for another perfect evening. We are all buzzing this morning. Can’t want to go again.

we have eaten at this neighbourhood restaurant many times, and been very satisfied. however, on our last visit we were kept waiting for over an hour for our food, and we couldn't have a conversation between ourselves because of the noise. very, very disappointing. maybe it's changed hands and they can't cope?

My family and I have frequented this restaurant for many years due to great food, service and setting. On this occasion for a family lunch, we were really disappointed with our dining experience. The food was still enjoyable though the set lunch menu options are more basic than in previous times however it was the front of house service that really let it down. We were seated at the back of the restaurant near the open kitchen door even though other tables were available. Our hostess didn't ask us once how anything was and I'm not sure she even smiled throughout our lunch. We weren't made to feel very welcome or particularly looked after which for a family Christmas lunch is unfortunate. However our table waitress was very pleasant and friendly which was appreciated given the lack of warmth received on arrival. Given the sizeable bill for 5 people, a lack of genuine customer service and care leaves you as a customer with the feeling that sadly, the restaurant has changed and not for the better. I won't be rushing back.

Really good main course. Starters slightly disappointing. The bresaola with Parmesan was just lots of bresaola and the waitress came to add Parmesan shavings. Not very imaginative. Very nice service, though and good ambiance.

Went for the first time this evening for our anniversary. The staff were incredibly informative and attentive, gave us a great table and recommended some fantastic dishes. My partner and I had different meals for every course and each dish was just fantastic. Would recommend A Cena to anyone.
