Great and unassuming place and just a stone's throw from the Bush Theatre if you want to catch a pre or post theatre meal. The food is just delicious!

We went for a meal the week before and it was excellent so we decided to return with a family member who was visiting from abroad. I'm afraid my vegetable moussaka was nothing like the delicious one I had on the previous week. The first week was good sized slices of aubergine, but on the second week it was basically chick peas in tomato sauce with barely any aubergine at all. I was very disappointed. I would recommend Abu Zaad to friends, but I wouldn't guarantee the same quality of food every time, which makes me very sad because the staff and the service are great..

Sadly this is no representation of Syrian food. Syrian food is renowned for being flavoursome and absolutely delicious! This place should be ashamed of itself for calling itself Syrian! One can look past the actual place if the food made up for it. Mixing Moroccan food with Syrian food on a menu where there is absolutely no correlation. The owner who is supposed to be Syrian should be ashamed to represent our food in this horrendous way. Bland tasteless food! I suggest you name the restaurant something else but please stop misrepresenting Syrian food in as what you are serving is in no way Syrian which is some of the most delicious food in the world!!

We reversed for 5 people at Abu Zaad on a Sunday afternoon, we went for half lamb Mundi with rice and sides, the star of the show is Slow cooked Lamb roast, absolutely delicious so tender, juicy and succulent, seasoned to perfection, you don’t need knife the meat just falls of the bone. But half lamb for 5 is too much, the sided are amazing as well, hummus, aubergine tahini, fresh salad, chicken spring rolls and cheese spring rolls. I highly recommend Abu Zaad 🙏🏽

This once a legendary restaurant has been letting itself down over the past few years. The food quality and the overall mood has become bit sad . The quality starting from the plastic green rectangular plates ending with a rubber like ribs in the mix grill we've ordered has gine down dramatically.

Pickled olives, garlic sauce and spicy sauce on the table. Chicken shawarma was tender and sweet spiced with yellow rice and salad. Dessert of milk jelly flavoured with orange water and pistachio nuts was topped with a date syrup. Arabic mint tea is Lipton with fresh mint. Middle East music playing.
