9.5/10This was our first time trying Nigerian/African food and we were very impressed. We did not know what to order and sought help from the people working there who were only too glad to give very helpful advice and suggestions. The food on offer is very varied and it is easy to choose something that you will like. Staff - are very helpful and friendly, do feel free to ask for whatever advice you might need Food - the food is all made on premise to authentic recipes - all very varied and delicious Drinks - Afrizi has a good selection of drinks, many from Nigeria - the Nigerian Guinness and Beer is very different and is definitely worth a try. Just be careful because it is also very high in alcohol strength. Food tips - Plantain fries are delicious, the Mutton stew was superb and flavourful, Spicy fried chicken (chicken soya) with salad was superb. There is handy parking nearby and Afrizi offer eat-in and takeaway. Price - is quite reasonable All highly recommended.

9.5/10Nestled in the heart of Basingstoke, Afrizi offers a delightful culinary journey through African cuisine, and my recent visit confirmed its reputation as a hidden gem. The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the Jollof Rice paired with Mutton Stew, a combination that showcased the restaurant's commitment to authentic flavors and quality ingredients. The Jollof Rice was a vibrant masterpiece, with each grain perfectly cooked and infused with a rich blend of tomatoes, peppers, and spices. The balance of flavors was impeccable, offering a delightful mix of heat and sweetness that kept every bite interesting. Complementing this was the Mutton Stew, which was tender and succulent. The mutton was cooked to perfection, absorbing the robust, savory sauce that boasted layers of aromatic spices and a hint of smokiness. Beyond the food, Afrizi excels in creating a welcoming and warm atmosphere. The decor is a tasteful blend of modern and traditional African elements, with soft lighting and comfortable seating that makes it perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. The staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. Afrizi stands out not just for its delicious food but for the entire dining experience. If you're looking to savor the authentic taste of Jollof Rice and Mutton Stew in a pleasant setting, Afrizi is the place to be. Highly recommended!

10/10A great place to get a bite to eat before a show at the Anvil - I had the joloff rice and mutton stew - hot but really delicious and plenty of flavour, my wife enjoyed the chicken stew and rice - we had sides of plantain and honey beans - you won't be disappointed

10/10Both service and food are excellent! The taste surprised me from its appearance. The food ingredients are fresh. I like natural sweet things like honey peas, fresh tomato sauce, bananas. My girl likes the red spicy rice and the fresh smoothie.

10/10This small restaurant is a gem! Down to earth, home cooking in a rustic setting with amazing staff and a desire to feed its customers really well. We found this place late last year when we were visiting the Anvil and last night we took our foodie friends there too. We all ate handsomely and left perfectly satiated.
