10/10Beautiful building. Staff friendly, polite and professional. Food was excellent, nothing to dislike, would not change a thing. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends and family. Thank you for a lovely few hours.

10/10Lovely afternoon tea. Very pleasant welcome. Food was served quickly with unlimited tea. Was not rushed at all. Food very fresh and tasty. Very pleasant surroundings so all in all a relaxed and enjoyable experience

9/10Lovely venue, staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Tea/coffee was on refillable, lovely. We did not feel hurried, the afternoon tea was fabulous and good value.

Afternoon tea nice and setting was lovely. Would have been nice for the afternoon tea to been explained for what everything was or a menu printed so you knew what you were getting. A bit chocolate heavy on the cakes 3 of the 5 were chocolate. Would have been nice to have a savoury scone/sausage roll rather than 5 sweet cakes and a sweet scone.

10/10Amazing setting and wonderful food. The waitress that looked after us was so helpful and kind and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend to my friends and family to go to Dunston Hall.

Can't fault friendly staff. Setting lovely building, The sandwiches were OK, nothing special. Scone and cream/jam lovely Desserts looked good but just sickly, sweet with no flavour.

10/10We went to Dunston Hall for afternoon tea and found both the food and service to be excellent. There was no signage to the restaurant from the forecourt so had to through reception, otherwise I can most definitely recommend.

3/10Disappointed with the afternoon tea today. I had made the reservation beforehand and when I arrived I got told that there was no reservation even though I had it confirmed on email. Service was not good as they hadn’t prepared the afternoon tea. Not worth the money in my opinion.

5/10Love Dunston Hall but £25 each for an afternoon tea that was very disappointing was a bit much. The cakes and the sandwiches were quite dry. When the member of staff came back from her break she actually sprayed her deodorant on in front of us. Won’t be having another afternoon tea

6/10I filled in dietary requirements when booking but the venue had no idea about them being included and then couldn't cater for us fully. The dietary requirements were not complicated. We then wanted to sit outside, as it was a beautiful day, but were abruptly told that wasn't possible. Service was poor but overall the food was OK.

The cakes are lovely. Yummy! Sandwiches are nice & soft. We enjoyed ourselves very much. We will come there again in the future. We will tell our friends & family.

Lovely elegant building, well kept. Toilets could do with an upgrade to suit the other surrounding areas. Afternoon tea was nice but felt a little over priced as cakes were bought in and not home made. Nicely presented, clean and well kept. Overall a nice experience.

10/10Staff were very helpful and attentive. Catered well for our allergies and needs. Food was delicious, and lots of it, there were sandwiches (we had an egg mayo, minted lamb, cheese & pickle and ham & mustard each), many mini cakes (each had a carrot cake, Battenberg, Victoria sponge, lemon cake & chocolate cake) and a fruit scone each which was served with butter and clotted cream and a delicious jam too. The room was well laid out with plenty of space between tables, with a very relaxed feeling. Well worth the money.

3/10There was no sense of order to the afternoon tea. I was unable to find a menu ahead of time and when arriving the food was just brought out to us with no question of whether either of us had any allergies. I assumed there was three afternoon tea choices, but we offered anything and had to eventually ask for a wine menu. The food itself wasn’t up to much and neither was the service. A very disappointing afternoon tea and made us cancel our evening meal in the restaurant for the next evening. A 4 out of 5 hygiene rating wasn’t the most convincing either, considering the nature of the hotel. Worst afternoon tea I’ve ever had.

8/10The sandwiches were fresh and tasty, cakes were moist and a lovely variety, but the much looked forward to Scone was disappointing, very hard, dense and crispy, feels like it came out of the freezer and microwaved, if that improves with a soft, crumbly fresh scone, it would have been 100%!!

6.5/10The staff were very good at accommodating the dietary requirements they we had - gluten free and dairy free for afternoon tea. It was slightly disappointing that there were no gluten free scones despite pre booking the afternoon tea. This did not make the the gluten free value for money.

6/10Staff friendly and beautiful building. Went for afternoon tea for mothers day and wasn’t cheap, however we were disappointed with the cakes as they seemed to be bought in. Not homemade. Tea lovely though and comfy chairs etc. Toilets need refurb though and not the cleanest.

4.5/10Salmon was grey, cakes were sickly with very stodgy scone that fell apart as soon as you touched it, chocolate cake had droplet marks from some fort of fluid on them..just overall inedible, coffee was also terrible all round at the hotel. Definitely won’t be coming back, waste of £50, deffo not worth the price

6/10I have been to Dunston Hall a few times. This time there seemed less interest from the staff, and the scones were stale. The afternoon tea felt cheap compared to previous times. The waitress made a point of telling us that the cup of tea was not included in the afternoon tea, rather than checking that we were ok with it being added on - which we'd have been happy to do.
