10/10We enjoyed our visit to the Goring for afternoon tea. The staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. The seating was comfortable and the way the tables were laid was quietly impressive. Thank you.

10/10Fantastic service as you'd expect from The Goring. The ambience was lovely and the food fantastic, they'd made note on our booking for dietry requirements which was great. Would be lovely if the Terrace was available at the weekend for Afternoon, as I imagine that would make it an even more wonderful experience.

5.5/10It was ok but I wanted better than ok. The sandwiches seemed a bit stale to me (the bread not the filling), and the cakes seemed to all have a very 'perfumed' essence which made them taste ersatz. The tea, champagne and service were all great. We were sat at a long table in the middle of the room which made it feel very corporate and not the Goring I am used to which is dark cosy corners. Still enjoyable but would not go back there for tea again, sorry.

10/10Booked afternoon tea at the Goring for my girlfriend and myself. Great experience - can be compared with the afternoon tea at the Café Royal and almost with the afternoon tea at the Ritz. Luxurious ambience, perfect service, great quality of food, an outstanding experience.

10/10My friend and I had afternoon tea as we were both celebrating our birthdays. The price was very reasonable. Service was excellent from the moment we entered the hotel.. All the staff were very friendly. The selection of sandwiches was very good, we particularly enjoyed the melted cheese one. There was a good selection of teas and the waiter was very helpful at explaining them. During our meal the waiter bought us a special cake with two candles in to celebrate our birthday. We then went for a cocktail and it was lovely to have a pianist playing in the background. My friend misplaced her glove during the evening and on inquiring about it as we were about to leave a member of staff overheard the conversation, came over and said a glove had been handed in. He then went to the lost property room to return it. We both loved the ambiance of the Goring which was very homely and not ostentatious like some hotels. We shall definitely be returning sometime in the future.

9/10The Goring is our favourite. However the order & final bill was messed up. But without any delay by the staff we had the cost of 2 glasses of champagne each taken off the bill. . So top marks for that

9.5/10The dining room was attractive, but even though we had a reservation for 3 months, they seated our party of 3 at an enormous table for 8. When we complained they moved us to a smaller table. The tea and sweet and savory trays were lovely. There was no effort to hurry us along.

7/101. Booking service was excellent and responsive 2. Overall the tea was good but average when compared to the Ritz or Claridge's. The sandwich fillings were disappointing. 3. The restaurant service was good although I did have to ask for my bill twice. 4. The disappointing aspect of the hotel was the Ladies toilet. My wife informed me that that the paper bin was overflowing. Unusual for a hotel of your standard

10/10A perfect place to go for a classic English afternoon tea. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. It was possible to replenish the sandwiches which was an added bonus. We chose the champagne option which was definitely worth the extra cost.
