9/10Very cute hotel, authentically British and a calming experience away from all the hustle and bustle of the City. Loved the view of the park from our table! Check it out if you have some time.

6.5/10We visited on Wed and booked ahead. The Hotel door staff are excellent and experienced. A little disappointed there was no garden view but understood it was central London. Seated in the conservatory, tea was served with good choice, apart from a food allergy slip; which was rectified by myself. Service seemed rushed, perhaps because of an adjacent Christmas function or perhaps young service staff. Food good, but priced level with the Ritz; which may be viewed as pretentious. A service charge also not highlighted as optional added to the bill at 15% which did give me pause. A transposition error on payment also resulted in me settling the check over two transactions in front of other guests; albeit for the correct amount once all the extras had been added. The most expensive afternoon tea I have ever had but unfortunately not the best; which was held at Coombe abbey orangery.

10/10Gorgeous hotel - Christmas decorations are lovely. Service for the tea was fantastic and because we were one of the last groups in, we were even given another entire tea for two to takeaway. Very generous portions also. Price is quite high but kept it down by sticking to tea (unlimited tea also). Would absolutely go back for a special occasion. 10/10

The view towards the “garden” is not as spectacular as it gives the impression to be on the website; the terrace is facing a rather sad backyard. Both the tableware and furniture were inadequate for the upscale environment and price point. The outdoors area has simple synthetic rattan furniture and the porcelain was kitsch. There was no traditional silver tea pots. Each table featured a succulent sitting too low in an oversized pot, which felt hastily made. While the scones and pastries were delicious, the sandwiches were just ok flavour wise and featured somewhat basic ingredients. For 60€ + 15% service fee, you must be able to make tasty sandwiches. The service was good.

5/10Nice place . The sandwiches were really poor. I could have done better. Very bland and unimaginative. Scones were lovely and the jam and clotted cream. Some cakes were ok . I was treating a friend And I was disappointed.Must do better I will stick to higher end experiences. Did bottomless but for the money was not great.

6.5/10The setting is lovely, the staff attentive and friendly. The food was fine, just not amazing. However, the price we paid should reflect a higher standard which we just didn’t feel was the case. Perfectly adequate Afternoon Tea - just not “special” enough for the price being charged.

2/10The waiter told us that they have never accepted Yums in this establishment in 25 years, however there are reviews as recently as May saying that people have paid with Yums. He was unprofessional and discourteous and we left. He came across very patronising and we didn’t like his attitude.

10/10We had a really lovely afternoon. The hotel itself is a lovely place, and so is the the atrium where we ate. The staff were attentive and friendly and the tea, scones and cakes were all top notch. Furthermore, the price in comparison to some of the other teas offered in London is far more reasonable than some big names. Well worth a visit.

10/10I’m really baffled by some of the low reviews for this. It’s one of the best afternoon teas I’ve had and I’ve had A LOT of high quality London ones. Upon arrival the young lady that greeted us was smiley, polite and friendly offering us a choice of seating. She obviously likes her job, nice to experience. There was a great choice of vegetarian savory and 6 little desserts including a lovely refreshing sorbet. They offered complete refills on the food and you could try several different teas, The table was in a conservatory style room, airy that looked out onto the garden. There was a lower screen on windows so would have been lovely to see the garden when seated. My daughter and I used our fork yums and so what we paid was very little but it was well worth the price they are charging. I will definitely return hopefully this summer. Truly enjoyable. All, staff were attentive and pleasant. Door was opened for us when we left by pleasant lady wishing us a nice day. I truly recommend this place. What’s to complain about???

10/10Was our first afternoon tea in London and while reading uther reviews we were a little worried as some folks seemed to have mixed experiences. However our experience was perfect. The service and ambience were great and the tea and food were amazing. So very glad this was our first afternoon tea as it a memory we will carry for ever

5.5/10After two weeks traveling with our family around Europe, this was by far the most expensive meal we have had. In fact, it was twice the cost of any meal we have had. We dine well everywhere we go, but $271 lbs for tea and snacks is just (insert your favorite word here). Nice people, but we won't be returning customers.

2/10This was a disappointing experience. We had reservations and arrived 5 minutes early. They told us that they were short staffed and we’re going to close in 20 minutes! We chose to order and we’re treated as if we were not welcome. Why allow reservations late and then make you feel guilty!

8/10This was a lovely experience. The hotel was easy to find, the staff were superb and the decor was beautiful and well suited to afternoon tea. The tea was wonderful, and the scones and sandwiches were very fresh. The pastries however, were not as brilliant. They were beautiful, but after tasting all of them I only ate two. The Eclair was not properly filled but it and the cheesecake were still nice. The fruit tart was clearly properly made but it along with the other pastries were bordering on old. All the small cakes were claggy and the macaron was soft and chewy instead of crisp and flavourful. It was a real pity as the rest of the tea and service was so wonderful, I wish the pastries had been better.

8/10The ambience was excellent. Staff was courteous. I was with an important business guest and we requested for a pastry and sandwich but as it was not exactly fitting into the menu there was some back and forth and multiple mentions of how much it would cost, which was a trifle embarrassing in front of an overseas guest. But I will definitely come again.

10/10I wholeheartedly recommend the Afternoon Tea at the Montague. It was a wonderful way for us to spend our last afternoon in London. We sat on the covered back porch overlooking large trees and beautiful buildings and enjoyed the careful attention of the well-trained staff. The lovely tea sandwiches and delicious scones were so good. We barely had room left for the array of little pastries at the end. My friend has a food allergy, and the waiter made sure to adjust what he served to accommodate her. We each had two different pots of tea. Excellent value, exceptional experience!

10/10Servers Rudi, Rigels, and Piotr were fabulous! Ambiance was exactly what we hoped for. Met friends we have not seen in a long time and it was such a wonderful relaxed time to catch up! Staff did not rush us. Treated us well and kept bringing more food and different teas! We loved it.

This was the best afternoon tea we have had. Unlimited tea and finger food which was delicious. The staff were very attentive and we were allowed to take away our leftovers so they didn't go to waste.
