Lovley hotel , surroundings & service just the food was disappointing .. sandwhiches very bland in taste & the best was the cheese & chutney .. scones were quiet full of soda & so we never even managed 1 each & we can usually eat 2. Variety of sandwhiches & taste I would expect better for the price . Champagne I can’t fault .

Great food, catered well for 2 coeliacs. Beautiful setting. Although let down by not providing containers for doggy bag to take home. Take your own with you. Definitely go again

Lovely afternoon tea. Only problem was that the hotel doesn't give you a box to take any leftover cakes home so bring a small tupperware if you think you might not eat everything!

We were the only people in the "orchard room" which felt odd, but would not have been quite so bad if we had not been seated at the far end of the room, beside what seemed to be used as a cut-through passageway with staff constantly coming and going throughout! When we arrived for our booking, the Asian gentleman who showed us to our table and asked what tea we would like seemed quite "grumpy" and a bit put our that we were there, but that may have just been our impression.

The desserts were not good - poor quality and taste. The fingers sandwiches were basic with basic ingredients. The scones though were great. In a nutshell, not worth the price AT ALL (and in the end they add a 12% fee for the service). It's a tourist trap unfortunately.

I had booked afternoon tea at The Orchard Room for a birthday celebration. The food was amazing but unfortunately the service was very slow. I had booked the table for 15.30 and we were not seated until 15.50. We then had to wait until 16.30 for our food.

Being visiting Americans who are not accustomed to the rituals of the English high tea, we had nothing with which to compare this experience. That being said, we had a thoroughly delightful time…the food was delicious, the service impecable, and the atmosphere most conducive to relaxation.

If you look for traditional English afternoon tea, sorry to say but this is not a place. For the choice of English black tea, they have only 2 blended tea and earl gray, nothing else like Assam, Darjeeling, Seillon tea

Being our last day in London, we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea. The room was beautiful and the ambience was just what we were anticipating. The waiter was very nice, personable and anticipated our every need. It was just a great experience

Lovely setting - The Orchard Foom is floral-themed and very pretty. We were the only ones (Friday afternoon) so we had a lovely, peaceful atmosphere. Food was lovely - one of us was gluten free and vegetarian. The fillings were lovely and the sweets too.

The sandwiches were excellent with the ham & cheddar and the cucumber & mint standing out. I also enjoyed the scones. Among the cakes the marmalade one was very good indeed. The outstanding thing however was the selection of teas and the very knowledgeble waitresses. Topp quality service without being overbearing.

We had a really super afternoon and I would highly recommend the experience The food and service were excellent The only shame was to be told at the end that we couldn’t take the remaining cakes away. It was handled nicely but a little disappointing- my suggestion is to take your own takeaway box

Really good value champagne afternoon tea at the Conrad St.James. Plenty of sandwiches and some little tartlets, which were delicious, warm scones, and a good selection of cakes. Happy to refill the tea too. Difficult to finish it all! Only slight criticism was the music was on a loop and the same song was being repeated over and over!
