We all have high expectations of what constitutes Afternoon Tea. The Rubens did not disappoint. The food was delicious, and it wasn't quite the expected type of Scones and Finger Sandwiches and other delights. It was slightly different. Lightest, fluffiest scone I've ever had, yet it packed all the flavours you would expect from a much denser (and more familiar) scone. Recognisable, yet different and exciting. There was no chance of us finishing our entire plates, which seemed a shame as The Rubens offers refills on the plate and Tea. We enjoyed a discount from The Fork, and it was well worth the money we paid. I would recommend The Rubens, with its excellent service, and facilities. The doorman to the hotel was rather knowledgable as well and I enjoyed spending some time chatting with him. Service matters, and The Rubens seems to understand this.

Our server Geraldine was really friendly, chatty and knowledgeable. She clearly is in the correct profession. Had good advice about the tea. Scones were lovely and mango tea was very pleasant. Had some nice cakes.

Right from the start the service was amazing. The staff were so attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The afternoon tea is such good value for money as you could ask for more sandwiches, scones and tea. All the food and especially the cakes were delicious.

Outstanding service from beginning to the end. Staff was extremely attentive and the food was exceptional. My favorite was the scones with clotted crème and fruit jam. Recommend the champagne addition. Dress up as this top-notch afternoon tea!

The customer service and the service are good. The food is kept the standard. But the tableware is old. All the patterns on the cups and plates are fade out.

1. They were first unable to find our reservation 2. The food was very mediocre for the price paid ie. That of top tier hotel tea service. 3. Service was terrible. They did not deduct the deposit as part of the bill, and subsequently charged for the same deposit by mistake instead of refunding it. I have been double charged.

If you are expecting a festive "Christmas tea" experience, this is not it. The hotel is in serious need of an update and feels dingy and old. There is no festive anything. it is a regular afternoon tea. But I will say this: their marketing dept is good....They made it sound online like this magical experience.

Lovely afternoon tea and ambience. Not hurried at all and allowed to sit and take our time. The hotel even provided a special birthday sweet treat for birthday girl which was a nice touch.

Absolutely loved our little Sunday afternoon treat at the Ruben. Really friendly and attentive staff, very special feel to it without being snootish, Happy to keep this one a hidden gem. Thank you, we will be back!

I have been to many restaurants for tea but this was by far my best experience. The hotel was easy to find and the decor was beautiful. The staff were super friendly and attentive. We were giving a lovely table in an alcove and even though we were late, we were allowed to stay for the time that was allotted to us. The food was amazing and very different from what I have had before, which was a lovely surprise. It was definitely value for money. We will definitely return next year. Thank you so much for starting off my Christmas celebration on the right footing. I will also recommend you to my friends and family.
