I made a reservation for 12 people and received booking confirmation from TheFork. I also received a reminder the day before the booking. When we arrived right on time (8 30 pm) the restaurant didn't seem to be expecting us. Rather than accommodating us on the ground floor they asked us to go downstairs into a dark dingy lower room where the lights kept flickering. The service was slow and when the food did arrived it was not up to the standard I had expected from the previous time I ate there. Very disappointing.

Nice staff. Bright lighting . V poor quality mass produced dips with the popadum. Food arrived on barely warm plates. Lack of spice. Sloppy food with bland flavouring . Prawn’s very tough in king prawn tikka masala. Daughter couldn’t eat lamb as flavours unpleasant. We won’t return & v disappointed as it’s our local.

Very unimpressed. We had to wait long for the food. The table next to ours actually left without eating. One of the dishes was already cold when served and we sent it back to the kitchen. The quality of the food was very low. It all tasted pre-cooked and just warmed up to serve.

This Indian restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the staff's warm welcome set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The ambiance is perfect, blending traditional decor with modern elegance. Every dish was a burst of authentic flavors; the butter chicken and lamb rogan josh were particularly outstanding. The vegetarian options, like the palak paneer and chana masala, were equally impressive. Fresh, fluffy naan and fragrant basmati rice complemented our meal perfectly. The desserts, especially the gulab jamun and mango lassi, were a delightful end to our feast. The service was impeccable, attentive yet unobtrusive, making us feel valued. Cleanliness and hygiene standards were top-notch. Overall, this restaurant offers an unforgettable experience, deserving of five stars!

Delicious food and very attentive staff. Wide range of food which was great for us - dairy free and pescatarian. Very helpful with allergens, just needs to update the menu to ensure it is correct on this.

An excellent Indian restaurant with attentive service. We had mixed starters and then lamb musalam, chicken korma and prawn masala. Also mushroom rice and peshwari nan and some cobra beer.

Shuwab is a lovely guest. Family run for a very long time, they know how to make you feel welcome and at ease. The service is polite, and worth a 3 star Michelin restaurant: finally a coat hanger, and someone always rushing to accommodate your bags and clothes! I don't like having to fold my cashmere coat on a chair... Many expensive restaurants don't have cloakrooms in London and I find it insane. You will eat FIRST CLASS INDIAN food for the same price of one of the 'unhealthy' rowdy croudy 'burnt everything' restaurants that are so (inexplicably) popular. Even more, they are very sustainable: no plastic straws for your mango lassi (delicious! 😋), excellent veggies and local meat. This restaurant is close to Kings and the Courts. My feeling is that this place attracts professors, enterpreneurs and lawyers. Usually people 'with a brain' who are difficult to impress with glitzy-schmutzy loud restaurants run by teenagers, and want a place to relax, order exceptional curries, and attention to details from the staff. I often order the pasanda or the saag dishes with spinach. Son ordered a curry with a smoky flavour that was incredible (sorry. I forgot the name). They have incredible vegan and vegetarian options, just ask as it is not always clear what is what, but our vegan guests were all very impressed. This is the 100th time (or more) that my husband and I eat at this venue, and the reason being that the food is amazing, the service is excellent, the seats are very comfortable, you can chat with your family and friends without being interrupted by loud noise and the drinks are very good. We will always come here, with or without the discount, it's the best quality price venue in the area (if you're fussy about the food and the service, because you KNOW what good food and good service are. I just wish that my review will not attract hordes of noisy people because I love it just as it is. Thank you, Sitar!

Conveniently located on the Strand, we went there at 10pm after theater. Excellent food, service was a bit rushed as kitchen was closing despite having accepted our reservation at 10pm. Very good food otherwise.

We had a delicious lunch at this Indian. We ordered various dishes including eggplant and rice with mushrooms. It was ready quickly and very tasty. The food was well seasoned and spicy. The restaurant is conveniently located on the square. Looks cozy. Service was fine.
