10/10The food just reminds me of home. It is 100% authentic Nepali dhal bhat. The taste is so reminiscent of dhal bhat cooked by my sister in law on her fire stove on the mountains in Pallung. The terkari was full of flavour, especially the aloo sag with its rich spinach and soft potatoes. From the soft, gentle and attentive waiter from Janakpur to the unobtrusive decor with photos of Kathmandu and its private, unexpected location, Aloo Tama is the ultimate in under-stated but exquisite restaurants not to be missed in the culinary experiences available in London. It must go to the top of the list for me.

4/10Firstly, it looks like a cheap cafe inside with wooden chairs and scattered tables. I then had to wait quite a while to be served and 40 minutes for my food. When the food came it was quite nice and they gave me a tiny single dish wish some relish in it which I accepted. It was ok. When I asked for the bill they charged me over £30 for a starter, main course, - which was a curry with no rice - some Nepalese bread - expecting something like a moan - which turned out to just be a warm wrap, which they charged me £3.50 for, then £2.50 for the relish which I didn’t request and the service charge. I hate it when restaurants discretely add service charges. I therefore asked the waiter to remove it and will not be going back again, because I could have. I regret not going to my usual curry house which would have got a much better curry, with nice rice and a garlic nan for 25% less than they charged.

9.5/10We were impressed by the selection available for vegans at this place. It's a small, unpretentious place, but the food was good and reasonably priced. We enjoyed a platter of vegan momos as a starter. There were three varieties: steamed, fried, and deep-fried, and they were smothered with a spicy red chili sauce. There were six meaty mains of chicken and mutton curries, and more than that for the vegetarian option. The curries are different from the Indian version. There's a separate vegan menu. No alcohol, but BYO with a small corkage charge. We enjoyed it and will happily return and recommend this place to vegetarian and vegan friends.

9.5/10+4Super little place serving tasty and well presented Nepalese dishes. Very happy with the variety of dishes and the quality of the ingredients used and wills return with friends. The dining room is basic and the loo is just out back in the yard, but it was clean and comfortable. I recommend going with a partner to share a wide variety of different dishes. Definitely recommend the momo platter!!

8.5/10Tucked away in a quiet part of Central London this is a lovely place with a particularly great range of vegan food ( as well as non-vegan). Staff were helpful and service timely. Dishes served in charming rustic style to fit with the simple rustic decor. Food was excellent. Not much choice on drinks and very quiet which might not suit everyone although it didn’t bother us. Just don’t visit the loo before eating: clean but ultra basic.

8.5/10Small, intimate venue - a pity some patrons feel thay have to shriek and be really loud, but this is obviously not the venues fault. The gentleman who meets and greets, takes orders and brings the food is always lovely. The wild pork was cooked really well, and portions are good, but the food was less hot/tasty than requested, which was a pity.

9.5/10Very accommodating and attentive. The food was freshly prepared, hot and extremely tasty. The menu was small but still provided sufficient variety and we couldn't help notice them seemlessly accommodating a vegan couple who were a "walk up". A great little find for the centre of London, just slightly off the beaten track. Having a BYOB policy made it even more fabulous value. Will definitely be looking for an excuse to return!

8/10The manager/owner was very welcoming and interesting to talk to about his ancestors (see the photographs on the rear wall). The food was very good. Authentic Nepalese is a welcome alternative to typical Indian restaurant cuisine. The interior of the restaurant is a little lacking in ambience but this did not detract from an enjoyable meal. The business has not been open for very long: good luck to them.

8.5/10This unassuming little restaurant is a good find in otherwise slightly soulless Victoria. After some flight full popadums we had a range of super spiced starters to set our mouth on fire :-) Onrated the food 4 because I found it hard to distinguish the different flavours through the spice. Be warned :-) Main courses were lovely and adjusted to individual sponginess tolerance. The waiter was super friendly and accommodating. It’s being your own alcohol. I’d repeat and just stay clear of the really hot dishes. Recommended for a night out with friends.
