Great food and service was excellent. Maitre d made it really nice for my 90 year old mum. Downside.... freezing cold and to the point where you couldn't think of anything else. Access for someone with issues a nightmare down a steep narrow staircase and the toilets are where you just came in. Go in spring or summer as warmer with great views we couldn't see. Don't take a 90 year old that uses a frame to get about. My fault.

The first few courses of the meal were excellent, but then we came to the main course. Both my wife and I chose the lamb. The fat was still raw, as though it had been cooked in a water bath, and the fat had not been 'rendered' before serving. Not good if you have gall stones! And what was served was tough. The waiter kindly offered to replace with the beef. My knife could not penetrate it. Not good.

What a wonderful setting. We had the set early dinner menu. Just wonderful and great value for money. Service is perfect. There was a mix up with the bill but was efficiently and quickly settled. Don’t miss this while the sun shines and you can sit outside. Food first class.

We enjoyed Champagne and canapés overlooking the lake and main house before taking our seats in the main restaurant. The food and service was excellent and chilled. Long gone the stuffy atmosphere of jacket and ties. Can’t wait to return.

The service was slow. I have used this restaurant many times in the past, before & after the pandemic. The service always used to be excellent. The staff were friendly more were needed.
