Amazing place… We went with another couple and had a fantastic night. The food was amazing, not rushed out and you can see the care taken with each dish. Each dish had a unique flavour and the lady serving told us about the dish and you can tell she was proud of what the chefs preparing. We drank (a lot) and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed, perfect if you’re catching up with friends. We ended up ordering more dishes and drinks as the night went on and not once as rushed to pay and leave. In fact the server was joining in with our fun. At the end we all left full and merry with smiles on our faces and will certainly be going back. If you’re unsure what to order the server talks you through what’s the specialities and we tried some dishes we’d never have thought to order and basically fell in love with the first taste.

We love the food which is fresh and tasty. By far this is the best Japanese fusion food in London and should be visited every now and then, which is my son's comments. We tried different dishes, including mains, appetizer, sides, sashimi, sushi and desserts and we like all of them.

Waited an hour for the food to arrive, and the temperature wasn’t quite right. The server also got our drink orders wrong. But nothing disastrous in general, won’t go without Fork

One of the best meals of my life! Every dish was delicious and the service impeccable. We felt really looked after, every dish was explained to us thoroughly. We did a tasting for 2 people, had Cheviche Delux, and Philadelphia Maxi. All divine. The receipt says our server was Daniela. Thank you again for the wonderful night!

There are a wide variety of choices. Both the food presentation and taste are superb. We loved everything that we ordered. Fresh and yummy. This is by far one of the best Japanese restaurants in London. I have recommended my friends to visit.

I have visited this nice restaurant for a couple of times now. Every time I visit I enjoy to a high level. Always been pleased with the best food they have there , really tasty . I can recommend Bamboo Mat for sure .

Brilliant food and excellent service from the server who personally escorted us to a nearby bar for an after dinner drink! The only thing that could have improved the evening, would be more diners in the restaurant to make it a bit more buzzy!

Food was incredible- particularly the Hamachi tiradito and the volcano sushi. Service was also 10/10, so good to see a waiter knowing perfectly all the ingredients and explaining how to eat it better. This place is a hidden gem, I will definitely come back

The eel rolls and the lamb chops which were very tender were excellent. Japanese food with a Peruvian twist..not your average normal Japanese food. Our waitress was delightfully friendly and knowledgeable. Will come again when we can.

Exceptional food, using fresh high-quality ingredients. Both the vegetarian dishes, and the meat dishes were cooked perfectly. Host was very attentive, taking the time to talk with all the customers and explain all the flavour combinations. Their passion for food really shines through, and they make you feel valued as a customer unlike many restaurants in central London which have you in and out in as quick a time as possible. The Menu is very varied and interesting - looking forward to returning and trying more dishes. Steak was a standout highlight - amazing quality and beautifully cooked. Thanks for a great meal, easily the best restaurant I have been to in East London.

We celebrated my mum's birthday last night and had an amazing time at Bamboo Mat - Leyton. Very tasty food (the beef rice dish and seared salmon were really good), and the person serving us (forgot to get his name) made us feel well looked after Highly recommend.

Different staff but still always excellent. Same menu food choices as food always excellent & I have probably racked up half a dozen visits by now. Probably back again for more within a fortnight. There's very few restaurant options of this calibre in this immediate area - maybe one other japanese restaurant & an indian.

I have visited x5 times now & always ordered the same food. Always excellent - say no more. A firm favourite. Looking forward to rebooking already again! I had the salmon teriyaki with lemon mash & brocolli. I also tried the vegan maki mango & asparagus rolls which were were a clear hit winner. To be balanced & honest I would pass on the Japanese tea hot drink pot of tea - very subtle/hot water - nothing taste. Chef & male/female servers are top of the class.
