Disaster - We got kept waiting over 10 minutes despite it being quiet after reserving a table , had to ask to order , the waitress's manner was very poor , didn't get the water we asked for as I felt an inconvenience ! she just plonked the plate down in the wrong place , our table for 6 had the till literally behind my head ,when we came to pay they had a problem accepting their own gift vouchers with card payments and asked us to go to the local coop and get cash out which my son did , no one wished us merry Christmas despite it being the 21st December , the food was REALLY great and the price was good but being let down by rude staff and poor service, we won't go back again , no ambience at all despite it being Christmas it's a real shame , someone really needs to sort it out as I can't see it surviving

Distinctly average food sadly - the chips were good but the fish disappointing. A staff member who appeared not to want to be working at the restaurant didn’t help the overall experience. Altogether, not a place I would choose to return to bearing in mind the number of options there are locally.

The food itself wasn't anything special, and i received a broken glass with my drink, but the most noticable is the staff. It felt as if they didn't want to be there. We felt as if we weren't seen, basically ignored.

I looked up top five best fish and chips and Bankers came up. It really was so disappointing. It was like frozen reheated food. No way that fish was fresh. The chips and mushy peas were cold. The batter was greasy and didn’t seem home made. Will never come to this restaurant again.

A local recommended Bankers to us the food was delicious and if a very high quality. Much better than anything near the pier. The staff were also very friendly. We enjoyed every bite! Would recommend going there straight from train station before heading to sea front.

My Partner and I came to Bankers for Fish & Chips, which we can both honestly say was the best we’ve ever had, seriously good food. The fish was cooked perfectly with the crispiest batter ever, nice and thin and not greasy and soggy like some F&C’s can be. Chips were divine as are the mushy peas. We highly recommend Bankers for a visit.

Lovely, homely restaurant on a busy street. Very friendly greeting, we were able to choose our own table. Very clean establishment. Delicious fish & chips, very generous quantity, couldn’t finish the chips! Staff were delightful. Very happy customer.

We had a great meal at Bankers! Had a perfect round table for our reservation of 8 and room for a buggy and baby. The staff was friendly and efficient. Fish and chips were delicious!! They had all the great options you expect at the beach. Really nice to eat here and have a break from walking up and down the beach!

Proper fish and chips served in a nice traditional restaurant near to the sea front. Good value for money. We also had our toddler dining with us and her kids meal came in a really fun little pirate ship cardboard holder, which she loved. Would recommend

Excellent lunch with attentive waitress . Food delicious. My mother in law of 98 years would have liked a larger plate ???? Suitable access for elderly Would highly recommend and will come back again.
