10/10The grounds are beautiful so peaceful and elegant, the food was very tasty and plenty of it, a different take on the traditional Sunday lunch, far nicer than a carvery.

10/10Fabulous place. We were celebrating exam success for our daughter and son in law to become Registrar's. The service was great , food excellent and the atmosphere was just right too. We will go again hopefully soon.

7.5/10After having to cancel our planned visit in December 2023 due to a fall of snow, we were looking forward to visiting Woodseats Hall for Sunday lunch with friends. The drive along the lane is narrow with few passing places so, good job it was not busy! We were greeted by staff behind the bar and served drinks. Our table was ready so we took our seats straightaway. The young man serving us was great, very pleasant and chatty. The serving method was explained to us, meat served on a hot platter to serve yourself (choice of pork, beef and chicken (on the bone) separate very hot serving dishes followed with roast potatoes, a selection of sliced roasted veg, yorkshire puddings and leeks. Jug of hot grave also. The food was really good, served hot as it should be and plenty of it. Any criticisms? The sliced veg looked a bit meagre and a bit more green veg would have been nice. Service was good and attentive but not overbearing. Atmosphere? Mmm, very quiet. When we arrived, there were around 4-5 people sitting at a high bar table, with drinks. There were probably another 8-10 people came in for lunch after us, but it was far from buzzing which is a shame. Also, the heaters up in the vaulted roof were struggling to warm the area on what was a cold and damp day to be fair. Just a little bit of a shame, there were not a few more guests but that's not the fault of the venue or the staff.

10/10I say romantic but to clarify I was with a long term partner so no rose tinted, first flush of love bias. This was as good a dining experience as I’ve had. The hosts were genuinely friendly, open and attentive. The place could very easily feel pretentious but it did not. Eating in a 500 year old building is not something I’ll forget and to top it off the proprietors showed us the accommodation adjacent to the hall, equally charming.
