Great service and food. Can recommend the fish cakes and the duck Relaxed atmosphere and special thanks to Michael for his excellent service in the restaurant.
It was a nice setting, the food was nice tasting, but I paid £60 for 3 people. £60 is not what that food was worth and I would have expected at least nice china and tea pots for the price. It was nice but I’m afraid I would t come back for afternoon tea.
Really lovely experience. Food was great, we all really enjoyed our meal and service was superb.
Food and service excellent
Quality of food was not a good as hoped. Sandwiches and cakes dry. Scones dry and shop bought.
The food was good, although I suspect some dishes were from frozen, no a la carte menu just so not a lot of choice. All the staff were great, efficient, friendly and helpful.
Very disappointed. We booked afternoon tea as a birthday present for my 88 yr old mother. In the booking I asked that maybe you could do something special for her. I wasn’t expecting balloons and a fanfare, but just a nice little touch to mark the day would have been good. We got nothing, not a mention, nothing. The food was fine but waiting service was terrible. He never spoke to us apart from bare basics, and was not attentive at all, and considering we were the only ones there in the dining room, we felt quite neglected and undervalued.
Dinner was very good. Nicely cooked and presented. It was however, very noisy and had the ambiance of a fast food restaurant. Breakfast was ok but needed to be warmer. The staff were excellent both at reception, in the spa and the waiting staff were outstanding.
Food was great service was poor.
Lovely food for the 4 nights we Stayed, however Wednesday & Thursday night dinner was mirrowed on starter, main & puds, plus also has the chef got something against carrots, green beans & peas as swede & celeriac is a bit teadius over 4 nights, we only had no more than 3 slices of carrot on one night plus we need a bit more variety of potato than creamed potato.
Excellent food, had the roast chicken and cheeseboard. All well presented and very tasty. Staff very friendly and efficient.
Realy good choice of food across the whole range and varied carvery options. When they heard it was a birthday meal, they brought a plate of cakes with "happy birthday written in chocolate across the plate.
Everything was perfect.
We had a lovely carvery meal on Saturday night and then booked a table for 6 on Monday night which was Table d’hote menu. The menu for which wasn’t available until 3pm on the day!!! We were very disappointed the asparagus /poached egg starter was cold and the main course of which 4 of us had the chicken main course which was very small not even a whole chicken breast!!! It is a shame that the Claret Jug and the hotel bar has the same menu as there is not must choice when you are staying in the lodges.
We stayed at the hotel and had both dinner and breakfast. There was plenty of options available everything we had was presented beautifully and tasted delicious and most important was hot!!!most places the food is only just warm. The staff were all wonderful and very friendly and helpful. It was my husbands birthday and he was presented with a happy birthday desert platter which he very much enjoyed ??so thankyou all for a very warm memorable stay x
