Ambience and staff were excellent as was the food....except the desert, it was called rum babas but it was a sponge(square not round) with some rum poured over it and some cream piped on top! £8.95! Would have given 5 stars otherwise

All really good, 'though there was no-one to greet us at the restaurant Entrance. This might be a consequence of a nearly empty house, which is a great pity. All was good once we were attended-to, ordered and the meal arrived. [A ship/aircraft etc. would continue with a full compliment of Staff, no matter what the Client load was...]

The food was fantastic, we had the taster menu and was very impressed with each dish, the accompanying wines certainly added an extra zing. Our waitress KIM provided exceptional service and made the experience that bit more special. I will certainly be recommending to all my friends.

To be honest we were expecting the typical mass produced not that nice 'hotel food'. But what a surprise; the food was excellent and so were the staff. The following night we dined at The Ivy (as we had pre-booked that) and even though everything at The Ivy was very good as it usually is, we collectively decided that dinner at Bistro du Vin Brighton the previous night was the better of the two.. Breakfast was also very good !

Food quality was not good the Buffet was average , the roast was also not good the vegetables were nearly raw the meat was fatty and had no flavour so for the price charged it was not good

Food was really good and service was good but a bit slow. We were served by 2 really pleasant professional waiters who seemed really efficient but clearly could have done with more help as they didn't stop and couldn't work harder than they did

This used to be a firm favourite but sadly the quality of the food was just not up to its previous standard. We all had tough steaks (accompanied by not particularly effective steak knives) despite having them cooked as suggested. Service was also slow and we needed to attract attention rather than be checked with. Hopefully just a blip.

Booked and was welcomed with a lovely smile ????. I had the French onion soup which was very tasty except for the cheese they used - very plasticky- couldn’t the cheese. My companion had the £35 sirloin steak which was satisfying as far as they were concerned - the petit peas with pancetta were rather tasteless and the pomme purée was not greatly puréed. All in all ok …. Restaurant menu has increased compared to menu on TheFork app …

The food was good and the service was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately for a Saturday lunchtime there were very few tables occupied so the ambience was lacking.

Had an amazing meal here. I went for the tiger prawns to start, rump steak for main and crème brûlée for desert - all dishes were cooked to perfection and portion sizes were great. Service from Edward was fantastic, very welcoming. Will definitely return when in Brighton next.

Brilliant Restaurant! I went on New years eve with my girlfriend as it is also my birthday. We both had a steak which was cooked to perfection and the staff gave me a few tasters or red wine so that I could chose the one best for me! 10/10, WILL be going again and I will be recommending to friends. Thank you

Two people had Sunday roast and the roast beef and potatoes were bit tough. Moules and frites were great though.

Very poor compared to when we last ate here 12 years ago. The luxurious decor has gone, the lighting feels cheap, the atmosphere and general fixtures and fittings of the bar area feels more like a Wetherspoons than an upmarket chain of hotels, the dining room felt like a space that had had its day and was now rather tired and old fashioned. There was no cosy hubbub as before. The staff made efforts to be efficient and ‘proper’ but it seemed almost out of place. Our steaks were overcooked despite being clear we wanted rare. The pot au chocolat wasn’t chocolatey enough. It felt a bit embarrassing to have taken a dear friend for dinner there when it wasn’t what we had hoped for.
