We received a warm welcome from Ann our waitress. Who took our coats sat us at our table and gave us menus. We perused the menu and enquired if the fixed price menu was still available from which we made our choice. 2 of our group were gluten free which was noted. I had onion soup which we nicknamed the bowl that keeps giving as it was nearly a meal by itself . The mushrooms were enjoyed and tasteful mains were Normandy chicken very tasty but a little dry. Steak was lovely (there is an £8 supplement although menu suggested this was for hotel guests(should have checked) also needed a sharper knife . my husband ordered the mussels which he enjoyed all served with frites which were very light and crunchy my friends vegetarian casserole was enjoyed. We just had room for creme brullee for dessert. Lovely thick crunchy caramel on top. A very enjoyable meal

We really enjoyed our meal at Hotel de Vin. The atmosphere was relaxing and the staff were really friendly. We opted for the 2 course set menu and the food was really nice. My only criticism was the butternut squash with my gnocchi was undercooked and a bit hard. But otherwise we really enjoyed our meal. There is a veggie/vegan option.

Although the service was a little slow. Drinks took at about 20mins. The rest of the mel was well timed. The garlic soup wasn't available so were offered other starters from the main menu at no extra cost. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was nicely presented Had the best Frites we have ever tasted soft with a cruncy outer. The chicken breast had a lovely flavour and My husbands steak was perfect. Our only complaint was the Banana and chocolate mouse which more of a granache and much to rich.and couldn't be finished . this was refunded to us. Overall a very enjoyable meal and will return
