We booked a table at this restaurant at the last minute and sat outside which was lovely. Food was great and staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely eat here again if I'm in the area.
It was a nice lunch. Food nicely cooked and service nice. We were not rushed out. Wine good. We had tea in the hotel.
The starter - Escargots consisted of 3 shrivelled up snails wrapped in filo pastry on a huge bed of lettuce. Main course - Magret de Canard was shredded duck and mushrooms wrapped in a 3 small pasta casings. Sauce was OK. Dessert - Tarte au Rhubarb consisted of flat round sponge with a scoop of icecream on top. The rhubarb was virtually non-existent and barely tastable. All in a pool of cold watery custard. I raised the issue with the manager who dismissed my complaint as being my misunderstanding of the menu. Whilst I have been visiting France and eating regularly in French Restaurants for over 30 years (including this one 2 years ago), I accept that my knowledge of French cuisine terminology may still be slightly limited, but I left the restaurant with the opinion that the meal was far below the standard that I would have expected from a "Bistro Gourmand" and won't be visiting it again. Having voiced my opinion at the time, I see no point in taking the matter any further.

It was our second visit to this lovely restaurant. We all enjoyed our choices, the wine was good, the dishes were freshly prepared and tasty. There was no bill shock either, which is always nice. Thank you for a lovely Christmas eve lunch

TERRASSE DE CHARME – Dès les premiers beaux jours, tables et parasols investissent la terrasse fleurie pour mieux vous faire profiter du cadre paisible de Bagnoles de l’Orne. Nous sommes à 1h30 des plages du débarquement, à mi-chemin entre Rouen et Rennes.
