9.5/10Each member of staff was attentive to our needs, and both accurate and prompt in taking and providing our orders. Our courses arrived looking well prepared and presented, tasting appropriately fresh and warm.

10/10A very unique, period pub and restaurant with friendly staff and decent food. It was a welcome and warm place to spend an afternoon in, on a freezing day.

10/10Another great visit. The Roast beef was just perfect. We avoided the roast potatoes so we could have the sticky toffee pudding and well worth it! Great wine list and service. Very welcoming staff. Shame we had to leave. Thank you all.

10/10Very elegant and cosy traditional London pub but with delicious gastro food and immaculate service. First courses and mains were fulsome and delicious! Deserts were a bit disappointing (though that might just be my choice) and overpriced (same in most places these days) but this didn’t detract from our experience. We will be back!

10/10This was fun. We arrived the first day of the wine competition. After taking down the decorations, it was so nice to try out a secret wine for GBP3.50 if we had the sausage and mash. How tough is that? Did not have a clue about the wine, except it was really delicious. Great food, service and thanks to the staff for helping us with this!

10/10Best Roast beef Sunday lunch. Seems to get better and better. Succulent and flavourful. Just the right size Christmas pudding, which we shared. Great wine list. Wonderful staff and surroundings. Thank you all.

10/10Great visit. We had Kentish bangers and mash with gravy. No mean sausage. Not much room for anything else. Wonderful service, fantastic ambience, especially for Christmas. What a wine list. Thanks to all staff for a lovely visit.

8.5/10Good food in general although the steaks could have been more accurately cooked. Particularly good was the recovery made when one main course was late due to a mishap in the kitchen. Free bubbles and desert for the young lady in question. Service very good generally. Only negative point was no Guinness!

8.5/10I know this venue well & have been coming here for years when I want to meet old friends in a central location. It’s quiet so allows conversation, food is acceptable standard, service efficient & not rushed while house wine is good quality.

10/10We went to the Boot and Flogger for a pre-theatre meal. The restaurant was on a quiet side street. We loved the old world atmosphere. The meal and service were great. It is a short walk to the Globe Theatre. It is perfect for a three course meal in a subdued environment.

10/10The staff gave us a small room as we are all elderly and have problems hearing each other in noisy restaurants. It was a special occasion and we wanted to be able to really enjoy ourselves, which we did. The ambience is wonderful, old and mellow, full of interesting spaces. The service was excellent, and charming too. The food was very good. Will definitely return.

6.5/10The menu seemed good but the execution was punimaginative..Basically the fod was geared to lowest common denominator British palette.. Price- quality ratio was not good. Despite clear and repeated order,; wr failed to get broccoli in chimichuri sauce! Very disappointing!
