8/10Whilst the food and service were very good, it was very noisy (current terminology would probably describe it as ‘buzzy’) to the extent that we struggled to talk to each other. Probably a better place for the younger crowd who don’t mind this but we probably wouldn’t visit again for this reason.

10/10We loved the atmosphere, what a gorgeous space. Staff were excellent, menu was extensive and the food was beautifully served. Best of all, tasted as good as it looked. Value for money was very good. Would go again if we come back to Bristol

5.5/10The chicken schnitzel was overcooked, and served with no vegetation other than a handful of watercress as well as undercooked chips. Because of all the hard surfaces in a place designed like this, I suspect the noise levels would have been unacceptable if the place was at all busy.

6.5/10Service was slow at start despite having several waiters in a crowd talking to themselves and one of the main courses was just boiled veg in a soup (was supposed to be curry). Sent back, team were polite about it. Other main course was average…

The ambience was beautiful, the food amazing. Only hiccup was that the Yorkshire pudding was totally burnt to the point of inedible. When I gave feedback about the meal to the service staff, they simply say ok and moved on. A great Sunday roast must have a great Yorkshire pudding too. Serving an inedible component was disappointing. Generally as a whole, all other food was spot on!

We really enjoyed our new years eve experience with Browns great staff, great food and great ambience. While we are not often in Bristol we would heartily recommend eating here! Also the range of cocktails on offer was fabulous!

9/10This restaurant is in a gorgeous building and a lovely setting too. The food was delicious. Understand it was NYE and was busy but we had to wait a while to see someone to ask for the bill

7/10Three out of four meals were okay,, though not exceptional, and one, the pork belly, very disappointing as it was tough, tasteless, and the mustard mash appeared to be missing the mustard. The starters came promptly and staff were friendly, but we waited at least another 30mins for our mains and had to chase them up as we were heading for a concert that evening. Food was not piping hot as if it had come from the kitchen which led us to believe it had been sitting awhile before coming to the table. The waitress who cleared the table took the negative report back to the kitchen and the offending item was removed from the bill, a positive touch. We did not have time for desert due to the delayed main course. The ambience was lively as expected on a busy Friday, but we’d recommend a table away from the ‘main corridor’ as it was quite draughty on a cold evening.

we came for christmas eve eve dinner and were happily surprised. good place to eat on a date, family or girls night. Not a lot of items on the menu but the items that are, are well executed, in presentation and taste. Drinks were delicious and Esme treated us very well

7.5/10The restaurant is a beautiful building with a very good ambience. It was just right for a family get together meal. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was a bit slow as it was a busy Saturday night and we were lucky to get in domewgere at the last minute, albeit it was a late sitting.

10/10The food was delicious with a good choice and generous helpings. I love the spacious setting and atmosphere. Our service was prompt and pleasant. I would really recommend lunch at Browns.
