8/10This was dinner for 3 friends who hadn’t got together for years. The server asked us if we wanted water, we asked for soda water unaware that it wasn’t complimentary and had another one later, subsequently being charged £11 for two bottles of water when we had thought it was included. The ONLY option for one guest was extremely spicy and burned her mouth (crustacean allergy and lactose intolerance) Heat of the dish was unspecified. The location of the table meant that two of our party felt they were right in the way of the servers and it was bothersome. The pork choice was extremely good, and the vegetarian hamburger and chips. At the end of the meal the server could not remove the 10% tip and confused two of the diners into very nearly paying an extra £11 tip. This was quite confused but I explained that they were tipping twice because the server hadn’t taken the mandatory 10% tip off. So luckily, not helped by the server, we avoided being overcharged. Unsatisfactory for Browns

8/10We do really like Browns but I'm afraid on this occasion it didn't live up to expectations, both our main meal was cold and my fillet steak wasn't the best

10/10Excellent lunch. Food and Wines and Service all top class. The Albariño was amazing as was the Cod - my choices!! Thank you Amelia - amazing friendly efficient service.

10/10I booked a table for myself & my sister pre theatre dinner , Staff very helpful and friendly both in our mid sixties we felt very welcome and the food was excellent , Cant wait for our next visit. Thankyou All

2/10I had booked a table for 6 with my family pre-theatre. When we arrived we were told that there was no booking in my name and we had to find another restaurant very quickly.I will never book a table at Browns ever again.

5/10Service was generally poor Ordered starters from the 2course menu, these were forgotten entirely Waitress admitted she forgot when the main course was brought out Steak knives provided when half way through the main course!! Decided to have deserts as starter was missed, Same dearest ordered but one was significantly bigger then the other Bill was checked and was overcharged by £9.00 , got this refunded !! Food ok, but not fantastic Service was appalling due to lack of care, lack of basic skill and this wasn’t a busy lunchtime

10/10This was our first visit. We sat in the upstairs area, with well spaced tables, and not too noisey. We liked the live music, a pianist. Service was really good - very friendly, helpful and waitress with nice lively personality. Food was lovely, and above our expectations.. We were not rushed, and made to feel very welcome

4/10Started unpromisingly and ended in disaster. The main problem was the service: we had to ask three times for the water to be brought, twice for our aperitif which arrived after the starter and twice for our two glsses of red wine. At the second request we were told it was probably waiting on the bar; it finally arrived well after we had started the main course and when it did one of the glasses was spilt all over the table, staining my wife's clothes and spilling onto her food and into her water glass. When the manager was finally called as the waiter had (we had to ask for this as the waiter had disappeared after incompletely clearing the mess) she was very apologetic and replaced my wife's salmon dish and wine and agreed to deduct the cost of one main course and all the wine, as well as to pay for dry cleaning if necessary. The food: the starter was excellent, the salmon OK (but a very small fillet - the replacement was twice the size) but the steak pie was swimming in a very thin sauce. The chips were good though. Finally, when the bill came we had to remind the waiter of the full range of promised deductions. I have to say our usual experience at Brown's has been much better so we will be back.

Excellent meal, scallops starter was delicious along with fish pie and linguine mains. A little wait inbetween being able to order desserts, but not a problem. New waiter for our table, who was very good. Singer in the bar area could not really be heard due to the noise of conversations. Overall a lovely evening.

7/10We noticed the restaurant is having a refurbishment starting this week, now wether they were running things down from the kitchen? Quite a lot off the menu wasn’t available, we were fairly dissatisfied with the meal because normally it’s very good. Hopefully when it reopens things will improve.
