Lovely staff and atmosphere. We really enjoyed our visit and the trip upstairs to the football pitch on the rooftop and enjoyed the amazing views.

My experience was indifferent to say the least. We booked a table for 3 for myself and my two daughters (their first time). Welcome was pleasant and waitress was extremely friendly although if I’m honest I would rather not have someone who clearly had just been smoking serve me because that was all I could smell and as one of my daughters has asthma this didn’t help. I ordered a garlic bread without cheese and our meals. The garlic bread took approximately 15 minutes and then came with cheese. The waitress apologised and said it was her mistake although the supervisor/‘manager made no apology. 5 minutes later the main meal arrives but we still hadn’t received the garlic bread starter. I asked for it to be taken back whilst we had our garlic bread and once again received no apology. The garlic bread arrived a few minutes later and whilst we were eating this a member of staff dropped some plates and glasses near us which went all over the floor. Our main meals then came which were nice but to be honest the whole experience had been ruined. We never received any formal apology for any of the issues and it is shame that my children had such a negative first experience of the hotel football. To be honest I have been in many times on match day but never eaten and I’m not sure I will again. Some good customer service would have helped. It was extremely quiet as well so expected far better service.

The food was really nice but in comparison to previous visits the experience was just ok. I made notes upon booking that my eldest daughter has a severe tree nut allergy no mentioned it when we arrived or offered any details of allergens used for is to see. The person who greeted us assumed my daughter was over 12 and so did not give her a children's menu with activities so we had to ask for one. The children's activity booklet required crayons especially as the main activity was decorating football boots but the staff seemed to struggle to find these although they were eventually provided. It was only when we were placing our food order we were advised that they did not have pork belly or any meals containing lamb which was disappointing as my husband had chosen the pork belly starter and a lamb based main course. My daughter ordered a pepperoni pizza which came without pepperoni and had to go back and they just literally popped some pepperoni on top and put it under the grill for a minute. Both my daughters had milkshakes as part of the kids deal which they very much enjoyed and the trip to the on house sweet shop is always popular. I have rated value for money as it was kids eat free in half term.

We have eaten here 20 or 30 times and the food on this occasion was disappointing. I had a Hometeam Burger, which I have had before, enjoyed and even recommended. I left most of my burger this time and provided the following feedback to our server. The patty was overprocessed (ground) and was hard compacted, had a slightly unpleasant greasy taste, but was tough and very dry. My wife had a large Chicken Caesar Salad which was OK but the croutons were so hard and almost impossible to bite into. I assume they had beed deep fried, which is not how to make them. It was disappointing that whilst the server had mentioned the burger issue to the kitchen it was "noted", but no offer to compensate me for the poor experience was made. We will think again before choosing `these dishes again and may book somewhere else.

I have gotten food here before and I thought it was excellent but I would avoid it on match days and it is very busy and felt the wait was a bit long ..again I can understand as it was match day. Another point would be that we were sitting near the big automatic door and I have to say it was freezing with the breeze coming in so that didn’t help but I won’t knock it completely as I have ate before on a less busy time and it was excellent

What a shame. Last year we had a hair in the food which we dealt with by having a discreet word with manager. This year the service was so slow that we were there from 7.45 till 10.45 and if it wasn't for the staff being friendly we would have left.I realise it was busy but other tables were coming and going while we waited. As a business owner I just thought you would rather know. The staff are very young and seemed a bit confused at times. The manager Charlotte was very helpful but was flat out trying to direct other staff members. We love the hotel and owners and would come back but improvements need to be made.Regards mark Farrell.

Good food maybe slightly pricey??needs more veggie options but the veggie burger was nice?? there were 5 of us, and it was match day so I know they were busy but we were squeezed into a small table! Book in advance if it’s match day!! There was no chicken curry pie which my son , whose 16th birthday it was, was disappointed about??

I ordered the steak pudding. The whole thing was totally dry as a bone. You can get many times better from a Fray Bentos tin. Also the gravy was insipid. Good quality great tasting gravy makes the meal, the chips were the worst reconstituted mush I’ve ever been served. I could not eat them.
