10/10We have recently moved near to The Belfry, so we class it as our local being in walking distance. We have now eaten there three times in the last month, the last occasion was last Sunday when we treated the whole family in your restaurant. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a lovely waitress who tells us she also lives nearby. She showed us to our table, and let us settle before bringing round the Drinks menu. We then ordered our starters and mains and she confidently took our order on her hand-held computer and read back to ensure everything was correct. The Starter arrived quite quickly and so did the Mains considering everything was cooked fresh. We were quite full but managed a sweet at the end.

7/10Whilst the food was very tasty, the service was very slow. We waited half an hour before we got our drink. We ate 2 courses which took 2 and half hours!

9.5/10Easy to book on line, Quick service on booking in. Polite and professional staff and plenty off them to cover each other at busy times. Food was excellent. Tables far enough apart that we were able to talk and not overheard or hear others talking. Great venue.

4/10Service was slow. I ordered a Greek salad which should have come with feta cheese, black olives and flatbread. Mine came with mozzarella, pickled onions and focaccia. Quite expensive for what it was

This restaurant is lovely and has a good ambience . The staff was attentive and welcoming. Our foods was absolutely tasty, I had steak and it was cooked beautifully, my daughter had fish and chips and it was also cooked beautifully and very tasty. I will definitely recommend this restaurant at The Cambridge Belfry Hotel & Spa.

9.5/10Being out of season the restaurant was quite quiet. The menu was very different, the food beautifully cooked and presented. Of particular note was the staff, so polite.,attentive and personable. A very pleasant experience.

6.5/10The restaurant is specialising in very expensive cuts of meet for a main course averaging over £25 is disappointing and new other options is poor in my opinion

10/10The staff were all very attentive. The bar manager was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. Great food plus super service = fantastic restaurant. This is our second time here and will definatley return again.

5.5/10Having come here in November last year I feel the fork has deteriorated. Staff were slow.. things weren’t on the menu. At the bar there wasn’t even lime or straws offered with gin! A general air of not understanding what was needed . Also the coffee is dreadful from the machines.

6/10It was my husbands 75th birthday and I requested a nice table. When I checked in at reception as I’d booked 2 night stay, I was informed I would have a window table. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were informed all the window tables were taken. We were offered a booth but, as they had a table for 18 people next to the booth, we declined. We took a table for 2 in the middle of the restaurant. I was not impressed.

9.5/10The restaurant has a lovely ambience and the food is very tasty and well presented. The service was a bit slow although the staff were friendly and probably just a bit short staffed on the night.

7/10I enjoyed my evening and overall the food was nice and the staff were friendly. However, I order the cheese platter specifically because it had Blacksticks Blue cheese as I'd never had it before. When I asked the waiter he said it was stilton. If that was stilton I wasn't even sure that the other cheese was what it was supposed to be - Black Bomber, a Welsh cheddar - as the black rind had been cut off. It didn't have any particular taste. I ate it anyway as I wanted a desert to end the meal. When I paid the bill I said that I was disappointed about the cheese and got a very blank expression back. The waiter was lovely but I don't think he understands how important a good cheese board is. In addition the celery was wilted and the grapes weren't fresh (I have a photo).

6/10A very noisy party of 16 persons allowed to dine without comment from the hotel completely ruined what was a pleasant time for my guests and all other diners. My party of four were forced to move to the BAR to reduce the noise level.

9.5/10We prebooked and after discussion with the very helpful staff because we had our dog with us, we sat in the bar area next to the front desk. I had the ribeye, fries and salad which was all excellent My wife had the Caesar salad, which was average and poor value for money. The red wine was ok. I had the cheese plate, which was also poor value for money. Overall, we enjoyed our meal, all the staff were very helpful and polite, the ribeye was exactly how I asked for it, very rare and full of flavour, just the salad and cheese courses need improvement.

Our stay included dinner and breakfast. We ordered sirloin steak, and T-bone steak with fries and peppercorn sauce. Both dinners were really good and well presented. We really enjoyed our main. Dessert not so good, Apple pie and Sticky toffee pudding were both cold and bland. We had 2 drinks each and service was good, the waitress was very friendly and we left her a tip.

5.5/10Tables not cleared in bar leading through to restaurant or in restaurant. Very messy effecting the ambience No management or guidance for young team that were like headless chickens. Would not return. A shame as food was good.

6/10Our table was booked for 7:30pm we were finally seated at around 9pm! We had to approach a waiter to take our order and then wait a good 20 mins for our drinks! When the food arrived the rib eye steak was warm and chewy more fat than meat! We spoke to the manager who did take 25 percent of our meal but very disappointed as we are on our honeymoon and this was our first meal as husband and wife ????

7/10There is a stark contrast between evening meals and their breakfast. The evening meal was absolutely fantastic, really tasty although the ribeye was a little too fatty, but that's the butchers fault not the restaurants. Whereas breakfast was just plain awful and not worth £3.50, let alone the £18 they charge. It was definitely understaffed in the morning just one guy running around like a lunatic, with about 12-15 tables to clear whilst orange juice, and all of the foods were in need of replacing (it's a buffet style breakfast) but with little options. Sausages are plain and boring, bacon was ok, just a little cold and chewy (due to sitting out a while). There was not a single egg with a runny yolk. Seriously if I'm paying nearly £20 per person for a breakfast I expect it to be cooked to order.

6/10Started off really well, friendly waiter etc but he forgot to put our starter order through so the mains came out first. When we refused the mains he tried to get us to have the mains before our starters, we refused. When the mains came out again they had forgotten the sides so we had to order them again and part of the vegan order was missing and was replaced by a very stale salad. This was a birthday meal for my daughter so overall very disappointing.

7/10Food good, service pleasant but very inefficient. After being seated, no drinks offered, waited 20 minutes then flagged down a member of staff. Ordered food and drink (also requested water for the table) then waited another 20 minutes before having to ask where my water and other drink was. These appeared after another 10 minutes, no apologies offered. With only 15 people dining and 4 members of staff this was poor. Tables still not cleared 1 hour after diners had left!

5/10Food was poor and not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. The starter was meatballs which were luke warm and came almost instantly. For the main course I ordered chicken supreme which was just a dry overcooked chicken piece with no sauce or anything. The waiter was excellent, not his fault the food was not good.

3/10The second of a two night stay, including eating at what has always been one of my favourite hotel restaurants. If night 1 was disappointing, night 2 was shambolic. Although the supply issues of the previous night appeared to have been addressed, the restaurant was in chaos. We waited more than 40 minutes for our first course, then one of the meals was cold. I had to leave the table to attract the attention of the staff who were all huddled around the till. While we waited for a replacement, a table of 12 were being offered free drinks as part of an apology, and the two tables next to ours were receiving apologies for the delays. Our main courses arrived an hour and a half after we had ordered, by which point customers had left without receiving their food. Clearly the kitchen could not cope with a near capacity (but not full) restaurant. Not sure what’s gone wrong with the management here but after this two day experience, after 10 years of custom, we will not be returning.

5/10A nice casual restaurant hampered this time by the lack of availability of some dishes. Service was slower than usual and the portion of sea bass (“found”, after being told there wasn’t any) was tiny. Hot pudding was barely warm; the other two puddings selected were not available. Waiting staff were very apologetic, awkward for them, but the experience was unusually poor.

4/10After a disappointing dinner last night we arrived for breakfast to find that the only fresh fruit was a berry compote, a queue for the single two slot toaster and no hot water for the tea. Although the hotel can do little about it, the number of children climbing across tables, throwing toys and racing around made it a very unsatisfactory experience compared to previous visits.
