It was my partner's birthday and I decided to dine at Charlie's at the Brown's Hotel. The lady at the front desk was very warm and welcoming. We were allocated at a nice table besides the fire place which was very nice. Upon five minutes being seated three different individuals approached our table to take our order and we informed them that we were not yet ready and want some more time to look through the menu. We ordered our drinks and finally after 20 minutes we were ready to order our food.We ordered the lobster bennet as a starter to share and a kids pasta for our son.. As I ordered for myself the veal,for my main course, the waiter informed us then that they did not have the dish for the day and instead of the veal, they had the chicken, which made me feeling shocked as non of the three individuals who approached the table informed me about the dish that was off the menu. I felt embarrassed infront of my partner as I choose this restaurant especially for her birthday celebratioa

Really enjoyed my breakfast. Every ingredient or part of the breakfast was clearly top quality. Service was good too. However, the restaurant is on the pretentious side - but maybe that’s your cup of tea!

The food was top rate, but more: our friend has some difficult allergies that they quickly and expertly handled (deliciously). I was also impressed by their sommelier. I'm an experienced wine consumer with a level 1 WSET certification. This gentleman not only knew his wines, but knew how to listen to tastes and recommend appropriately. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and shined above the already great service from the other servers. The meal was a perfect wrap to our week in London, and not an experience I will soon forget.
