Food quality has gone down quite a bit since I last visited about 3 months ago. Ordered the lamb dosa and the dosa was not crispy, while the lamb was dry and flavourless. My Gobi 65 was also quite bland. The vegetarian chickpeas were served cold

Stepping into Chettinad restaurant was a delight on the senses. The decor is contemporary, dark raw woods, shiny steel and flowers, warmly light. All of the food smelled and looked appealing. The dishes were very rich. We never felt hurried by the staff and enjoyed all of the food and the ambience. Chettinad is a restaurant well suited to a special occasion.

Cafe style as stated, great tasting food at very reasonable prices. Would highly recommend, perfect for stats in and around the Quays, seconds from Media City Premier Inn.

I am Tamil in origin and was somewhat disappointed that the cooking here seems to have been seriously toned down for western tastes - really lacking in chilli. It wasn't bad, just not quite the ticket and with some good points - the dosas were excellent and the sambar felt authentic with some drumstick in it; the king prawn starter was also good. Service was attentive despite how busy they were. The toilet facilities need a lot of attention - one very tiny ladies' loo for such a busy place meant a long queue in a busy stairwell with staff trying to squeeze past with trays of food!

One of the worst biryani I've had in my life. Adding too many masala won't make a dish better. The cook killed and buried the lamb!! I felt like eating a plate full of masalas... Spicy food is not the problem...... The only taste I had in my pallette is masala powders!!!!!! And you guys charge like DISHOOM!! Worst experience!!!!!

Food was bland, too spicy and without interesting flavours. Poor value for money. Service and atmosphere were good. Hope service charge - which is deducted automatically from the bill - goes to the waiters.
