7/10Rather soulless place even when celebrating the Year of the Snake. ‘New Year’s set menu was aggressively priced. Service was charming, but slow - ironically in providing the bill!

5/10It was a very chaotic evening. There was a gas leak, we were told, and we had to be moved to another space which was utterly unfestive with bright lighting and no intimacy at all. The staff definitely tried their best and were polite, but they seemed confused and things were just not working well. We were celebrating my daughter’s birthday, and it sort of fell to pieces, because it was often necessary to be craning our necks to get staff to put something right etc. I felt sorry for them, but I paid a lot of money for the evening, and we were not even offered some kind of compensation for a less than perfect evening, which would have been a good gesture…

+1The food was really good. The staff were amazing. There was no rush to leave and we could hear ourselves talk. It was perfect for our ladies catch up.

7.5/10We went for the Business Set Lunch and added a half Peking duck to share among 5 of us. Some of the dishes have been "westernised" for wider appeal. Otherwise it was an enjoyable, and affordable lunch away from the hectic high street.

Food was average (the spare ribs were only lukewarm and the rest was just ok, non descript and nothing to get excited about) and the service was diabolical, they had no record of my booking (and didn’t even go to check) and I asked for sauce to accompany the meal that never arrived then didn’t see the waiter again: not cheap either, I wish I had gone to one of the big name Chinese restaurants in London instead.

8.5/10First visit, took my team for an impromptu lunch and we were really pleasantly surprised. The menu was very extensive and thoughtfully put together. I almost passed on the wine list but found some very nice options, again, thoughtfully curated. The food was absolutely delicious. A tad too spicy for my palate (Beef in black pepper) but the staff were very good and brought me some milk to ease the heat,. Everybody else was delighted with their option and are keen to return. Great service, exceptional food - a bit pricey but very good.

6/10We had dim sum. The food was over fussy and inauthentic. Only one dish was good. The remaining dishes were poor. One was inedible. The spring roll was almost empty. What a rip off. We had 15 dumplings and no drinks. The bill was £66

Peking Duck was amazing and I would recommend most of the menu apart from Dim sums and tea . Every dim sums we ate were not hot enough. Xiao Long bao skin a bit dry. Tea was not high quality enough compare to price. Desserts were okay, but too much cream. Overall a bit disappointed as the presentation on food were excellent.

6.5/10We want to try the promotional dim sum offer £20 for 3 dishes but were told it is just for maximum 6 people. We are a party of 7 and couldn’t try. Sounds like it is ridiculous as we were told the restaurant couldn’t make money with more people. We understand in most cases a minimum of 2 people is required for any kind of set menu but just don’t understand why there’s a maximum. Logically we will order more food with more people. We were also told the restaurant is quite full with booking but actually only 2-3 tables were with guests and we were the only table staying until about 2pm. The dishes are small esp the fried noodles. Taste overall ok but not worth the price

The food here was exceptional. The quality of the ingredients , mixed with the authentic flavours, puts this restaurant at the top of the table. Unfortunately there wasn’t many people here, which is a shame. Need to spread the word and get this restaurant on the map.

The menu had plenty of variety the ingredients used with very good quality and the price wasn't too expensive. I also like the way the calories are displayed of each meal so you actually know what you are eating. Big thanks going out to Luca and all the staff at The Cricket Club thank you
