The food was awful .undercooked broccoli so bad you couldn't eat it .the lamb shank a bone with gravy on it. Complained to a member of staff whom seem uninterested. The place was empty just a couple of other quests. I and my friends have visited here on a number of occasions. We won't be returning anytime soon.

We came in for my husbands birthday we were. Table of 15. Everyone enjoyed their meals staff were great and helpful. Everything was fairly priced too

Met up with friends. Warm welcome. Seated with a view over Portsmouth (although was at night) so just the lights to see. Wasn’t warm as windows were single glazed so felt the cold air quite a bit. The food however was plentiful and tasty.

A lovely setting and view for dining. Food is not freshly cooked! Dining area is fine. Staff are helpful and attentive. Ladies toilets are very pokey and small. Toilet pans are much to low and do not flush most of the time. They are not very hygienic the whole area needs a massive overhaul. I haven't seen the kitchen!!

It was a disappointing experience. Hardly any food choices available.....no pie, no lamb shank, no sausage and mash and no beef rib!! I asked for extra gravy to go with the mushroom Wellington and it never came with the meal....then asked again and it took ages to come and I'd nearly finished my meal before it turned up. Last time I visited the Churchillian to eat they didn't have any mash potatoe......I think it will be a long time before I eat there again.

The staff were very welcoming. We booked late afternoon to avoid crowds and it was perfect. The table was sticky and not very clean. Once we downloaded the app and then the barcode we tried to order from our table but it wouldn’t allow options. It would only allow the main meal. So we had to go to the bar to order. The gammon was tough. There wasn’t the first choice of flat mushroom with 3 cheeses. So had to have Diane sauce. I don’t think we would choose that food again. .

It had been redecorated since my last visit, looked really good. Service was excellent, food was tasty and reasonable in price. Staff checked we were happy with our meals.

2 meals the chicken was hard to cut sent them back and received 2 lovely meals but this meant 2 of 8 were sat with no food while others ate. A large band turned up (even staff didn't know about until last minute) very good but too loud for restaurant on a Tuesday evening. I would have liked to finish with a coffee but when l saw the working man mugs it wss served in put me off in all fairness l didn't ask if they had any different cups as I'd already complained about meals. Use the Churchillian quite regularly for meeting friends for lunch and never had complaints before.

We all had fish and chips with mushy peas. I like a crispy batter on my fish but whilst the fish was ok the batter in places was soggy. Food wise everything was cooked from frozen and not freshly cooked. I would go back and try something different on the menu because the views are outstanding and it has a good atmosphere.

We found the venue was in a fantastic location and the food was good, but my wife's mashed potato was lumpy which was a pity. Over all a nice experience although the outside of the building looks dated and in need of a bit of TLC.

This restaurant is local to us and has come along way over the years with refurbishment, new menus and lovely staff. The food was nice and what was particularly great about Wednesday night was they had a really good magician approaching tables too. I had the bacon topped cheese burger, it says belly pork but it’s bacon - very yummy

Our reserved table was not available on arrival. Menu limited - no fish & chips (on a Friday ) , or mixed grill plus other bits and this was early evening. After ordering deserts, 30 minutes later without any mention of a delay we cancelled the order and went without ! A disappointing experience for a Birthday celebration. Not recommended .
