Pretty flawless. Fantastic food. Great service - old fashioned in the best way. And an absolutely joyful experience. High recommended for food with friends or a date or with the family.

Great food and service. Definitely more quiet and better for dates or romantic settings than a night out with friends. I went with a few friends and it was a little more quiet and subdued than we were hoping for. That said the food, drinks, and service were phenomenal.

We had the pre theatre dinner which was excellent. A warm welcome, with a menu that was just the perfect weight for a real treat. Great wine list, with friendly assistance from sommelier when asked.

We waited for 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge we were even there. Then we were taken upstairs to a tiny room. We had booked this over a month ago for a birthday celebration. I asked 'Can we be in the main restaurant please? -No". I had also asked for a birthday surprise in my email too - nothing ' We travelled 3 hours for to go to this restaurant - A room with zero ambience. If I knew we were going to be put in a small side room I would not have booked this restaurant.

Really lovely ambience! Food very good. Music just right volume and style to feel relaxed and still able to hear yourself think. Highly recommended. Also they allow bookings over the web. Loved it!

Had a birthday lunch here with 3 friends. We chose set menu with glass of bubbly (spumante I think). The parsnip soup was tasty and very nicely presented. Good bread selection, 3 of us followed by the hake, the other had beef cheek for a supplement. Good quality produce and nicely cooked and presented. Sides are expensive at about £7. My friend enjoyed her carrots, the french beans were fine. Two of us had the amalfi lemon pie, which was pleasant but nothing special. They brought me a mini cup cake as a birthday treat. Excellent service by genial waiter who was from Amalfi himself, he took care to address any dietary requests. We were seated at long table, just behind the main ground floor fireplace dining room. Felt more like a booth, so a bit cut off from any atmosphere. I would have preferred to be in main area or upstairs. They're under table cloth was extraordinarily long - it was difficult getting in and out of our seating without catching our feet in it! Bit of a hazard. All in all, a pleasant lunch. Set lunch is a good price.
