Really enjoyable dinner. Food was outstanding as was the wine selection accompanying the tasting menu. Attentive knowledgeable and charming service. One of the best dining experiences I've enjoyed in the last 5 years.

Coarse has never failed to impress. Yet another absolutely fabulous evening of gorgeous food and beautifully paired wine. This husband and wife team have created our most favourite local restaurant. We can't believe how they pulled it out the bag after Northern Power Grid pulled the plug ... Quite literally !!!.... Earlier that afternoon !! Can't wait to return

Food was lovely, staff and kitchen very accommodating. First night of a new menu so wasn’t a perfect service- however, we appreciated that there are going to be some new menu teething problems. My favourite course was the artichoke and I felt the bass needed a bit more blood orange to elevate the dish and make it tastier. Overall had a lovely time though.

Food was incredible, service was impeccable, relaxed, friendly and perfectly timed! Will be going back, possibly for every menu change, it’s that good! It is also unbelievably well priced! We have eaten at a 3⭐️ restaurant and the food at Coarse was, at times, as good as that!

The lunch menu is very good value for money. Not large portion sizes but everything incredibly tasty so very satisfying. Low alcohol drinks now available so great for me, with wine pairing at a reasonable price for my husband. Knowledgable pleasant and efficient staff and good ambience.

Good Food, but Disappointing Service and Ambiance We enjoyed the six-course tasting menu, which was prepared to a very high standard. The dishes were flavorful and offered great value for the price. However, the experience was let down by poor service and an uncomfortable atmosphere. We arrived slightly early for our reservation 7 minutes, only to be greeted by an annoyed restaurant manager who was clearly upset that she had not finished setting up for service? We were placed at a noisy table near the kitchen, with an air conditioning unit that was distractingly loud. The restaurant's décor also left much to be desired, lacking any thoughtful design and feeling more like a dental waiting room than a fine dining establishment. While the food was excellent, the lackluster service and atmosphere would prevent us from returning.

We arrived on time but no one greeted us despite there being lots of staff. After we were seated we waited another 10 minutes before anyone brought menus and another wait until a drink was offered. The door was open despite other diners being cold and asking for it to be closed. It was briefly closed and then opened again. The place lacked any warmth and atmosphere. No music played. The starter courses were great and so were the desserts but the sauce with one of the mains was inedible and the fish was so overcooked it was tough. Our server kept changing. So no one really asked us if we needed anything. We had the wine pairing which was a mistake as a couple of them were odd to say the least. It was like they were trying too hard to be different rather than show skill in pairing to the food. We asked twice for the bill which eventually came. Then another long wait before someone asked if we wanted the card machine. 10% was already added which was just as well as I wouldn't have!

Really enjoyed the evening. The food was delicious, the textures, depth of flavours and taste was exceptional. Excellent team, very knowledgeable about what they do and all with a smile. Well worth booking a table for the evening to experience food on a different level.
