7.5/10A pleasant ‘ shabby chic’ French bistro environment with a decent number of tables occupied which provided a pleasant atmosphere. I would say that the food was fine but not exceptional.. highlights were the cauliflower and the chicken… the rest that we had were just ok( beef ragout was dry and rather lacking in flavour and visually uninspiring with a thin sauce) cod was lacking in flavour . Glad we tried it but probably wouldn’t go again

10/10The most wonderful food in a quirky, characteristic setting, served by the friendliest of people. A unique menu that makes you want to try something unfamiliar, and it’s here where the restaurant really excels. 10/10

9.5/10Visitors to Bath , found Comptoir on website . Menu is short but fabulous with some interesting combinations . It was a very quiet Sunday night after Xmas . We were welcomed warmly and our host explained the menu fully . Amazing wine list , and stylish arty decor . Could have been on the left bank !

6/10We were asked to hand back most of our menus before choosing mains as we were told they didn’t want to get anything on the menus. Reminded twice to pay downstairs as the waiters wouldn’t be coming back up stairs. It just felt a bit basic. The food was fine.

We do recall that you arrived nearly an hour after your scheduled booking, and although our kitchen was nearing its closing time, we made every effort to accommodate your group to ensure you could still enjoy your meal. Regarding the payment process, we understand it may have been inconvenient. Unfortunately, on that particular day, the connection in the upstairs area was not working, which meant we could only process payments downstairs. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused and appreciate your understanding. 6/10Friendly service, nice ambience but portions far too small for tapas, much smaller than Spanish tapas. Good quality but overpriced for the size of servings. Good selection of wines.

9/10Comptoir Cuisine on George Street in Bath was clean, and relaxingly low-key. The staff and service was very good and not overbearing, and the tapas dishes tasty, interesting and original (such as a crab dish with caraway seeds in it, an interestimg flavour combination that worked exceptionally well). It was expensive, such as a piece of cauliflower with smoked paprika sauce for £7 or £8), but the food and wine we had was very good, and light but satisfying.

10/10We always book a table and Comptoir+Cuisine when we visit Bath- the cheese boards, tapas, bubbles, and staff make this eclectic hideaway well worth a visit! We typically visit over the holidays and enjoy the seasonal cheese board, but this time we were able to experience more of the tapas (escargot, braised chicken leg, cauliflower, cod croquettes, and many more!) Everything was flavourful, melt-in-your-mouth delicious. We look forward to our next visit!

8.5/10A lovely spot for dinner and the food was amazing. HOWEVER... My partner and I discussed the lovely wines on the shelf and located a reasonably priced (or so we thought) bottle of wine. The woman taking care of us, who was lovely, heard us talking about the prices. When we got the bill we had been charged close to £50 for the bottle and we had thought it was £24. The price on the bottle is for take out and we were bot corrected. Also we were given a dish meant for another table and then when it was to late to correct asked if we wanted it. We were also charged for the mistake. We had ordered a substantial amount so it felt very rude which was a great shame as we'd had a lovely evening to that point.

5/10I was in the impression to go to a French restaurant but could not grasp the fact they have a tapas concept. Small plate of food but a lot of them. This make the meal very expensive. We order 2 starters ( 1 each) . My snails came just warm with no bread ,when as my partner,his starter came at the same time as the main course. The food was OK but nothing special

A truly authentic French meal, amazing sharing platter, with all the trimmings. An unusual range of meats & cheeses served with pickles, cherry preserves and fig relish. Delightful ambience and French decor.

4.5/10Unfortunately our experience of the restaurant was not a good one . We choose the restaurant because of the reviews and menu / photos but the meal certainly didn’t live up to the 4.7 rating . All of our food was rather tasteless and bland , the sweet potatoe fries were soggy and we won’t be returning ,
