We have eaten here since it opened. A long time! It is one of the very few restaurants in London which has never disappointed. However last night was terrible. One of the party doesn’t like to eat dairy and when this was pointed out to the waiter he immediately insisted it was an allergy. We stressed it wasn’t an allergy just an intolerance. So some dairy can be eaten in moderation. He was persistent and rather rude. He basically said the kitchen couldn’t change anything…having eaten there several times before and it has never been an issue before. We also had to explain that the person had lost two immediate family members due to high cholesterol levels and just wanted to understand what had cream in. What a thing to have to explain to eat. He still went on about the person having an allergy and basically couldn’t serve the guest as he didn’t want them to become ill. He didn’t listen. The waiter made us feel very uncomfortable. He even joked when we arrived we couldn’t have menus as we were late…as we had to ask for menus..we didn’t like the joke it wasn’t funny. We took friends telling them how it’s one of our favourite restaurants. The food was ok but also disappointing. Steak was very average. There was also a very large party in and they were rather loud which didn’t help the atmosphere but it’s that time of year and we could let that one go but it didn’t help. I didn’t want to write this bad review but there is no email on their website site to write a complaint. The restaurant needs to know as the member of staff needs training on how to be polite to customers and listen to what they are saying. We totally understand their concern about allergies but when you have to explain why you want to know about cream etc sorry it’s not on. We believe the waiter wasn’t going to sort it out…he walked away and it took one of the party to talk to the manager to resolve the issue. What had happened to this restaurant?

The venue was amazing and enjoyed the food, only thing that I didn’t enjoy was I caught the waitress saying something about me and laughing. I found this quite rude.

A recommendation by the new lady in my life. What a wonderful experience, in all respects; ambience, service and the food. Only very slight criticism was a short delay in bringing the red wine with the main course, but not an experience breaker by any stretch of the imagination. A wonderful evening.

It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. I took my husband for a birthday meal and we were welcomed instantly. All the staff were friendly,helpful and efficient. The food was excellent,the surroundings lovely and I look forward to visiting again.

The food was good but the service was extremely terrible. We had a reservation at 8:30pm and our servers were not attentive at all. They seemed more attentive to preparing the restaurant for closure than helping us enjoy the experience. They also never came back after we asked to see the wine menu. For the price and quality of this type of restaurant one would expect top notch quality service.

Booked for table of 3, sat at table of 4, but host didn't take away 4th set of cutlery so there was ongoing confusion with the waiter who thought we were waiting for someone, and this resulted in delayed ordering as no one came to serve us. The wine list was offered to the two men first, who declined, and then to me as the female host, with a comment along the lines of 'are you sure you are ok to choose?' The beef tartar started was very nice, the sea bass main, which two of us had, was average. I won't be rushing back there for a business lunch!

The food was superb and we thought it was very good value. The staff were friendly and helpful and the service very good. However the restaurant was really noisy and this did impact on the experience. We would question why the dining area closest to the bar was kept free, given that use of this area would have helped resolve the noise issues.

Lovely all, But very very noisy, perhaps to insulate the ceilings would help? Specially as the place is aimed for business lunches etc, I could not hear anything my customer was saying…
