10/10Visited for my wife’s 70th birthday which happened to fall on the first day that the new festive menu was available. It was great value for money for 3 courses and a glass each of mulled wine and the corn fed chicken was amazing and plentiful. We struggled to eat it all wanting to leave room for the delicious deserts. When they found out it was my wife’s birthday they brought over a slate of sweet treats with a happy birthday message which we had to bring home in a box they provided as we were too full to enjoy them then and there. The staff were very friendly and efficient and well worth the tip that was added to the bill. We will definitely be back. After the meal we enjoyed a walk around the grounds to help our lunch go down before driving home .

5.5/10The food was lovely, but the service was really lacking. Our main server came over to get our order, and then we basically never saw him again. Service was busy as it was a Saturday night, but there was also a considerable amount of time where he was chatting and joking with the other waiters. No one came over to check if our food was ok or if we needed anything else. We were waiting 30 minutes between each course, half of which was sitting there with our empty plates in front of us waiting for someone to take them away. It felt like the team were avoiding eye contact, which made it really hard to ask for anything, like more water when ours ran out. There was no apology for the wait times either. Most disappointing of all was the fact that I had put on the reservation that we were celebrating a special birthday, and then mentioned it again to the lady at the desk when we arrived, and again to the man who took our order…but nothing at all was done by the team to acknowledge it.

7/10Everything was lovely except the steak. It was cooked beautifully but the quality of tge steak was not tasty and did not fit with the rest of the meal. The other means we’re lovely though. Thank you

4/10Really average food for a hotel restaurant. The steak was tasteless, full on sinew and chewy. The chips were frozen and had that bitty texture. Service was polite and friendly. The atmosphere just seemed lacking, despite being such a grand room. I'd give it a miss.

9.5/10Great service and fantastically tasty Sunday lunch menu. The portions were good and the quality of the food was without question. Recommended for a leisurely lunch with friends and family, followed by a stroll around the grounds.

8.5/10The Atrium was a grand and beautiful space - I wish I had known what to expect! I'd requested a "corner table near a window if possible" on booking and, in the absence of a response, assumed this WAS possible. The Atrium, while lofty and grand, doesn't have wall windows or corner tables. No view out! Fine if you know the venue but I didn't. The service was lovely, if a little overbearing - 4 different people asking us multiple times if we were ok and did we need anything. And is it usual to add the service charge rather than leave this to the discretion of the diner? I know we could ask for it to be removed but that feels awkward and rude to the waiting staff. I'm afraid I found my pate starter tasteless, surprisingly. The rest of the meal was delicious but opted not to stay for dessert and coffee as I needed a view by then!

8/10My wife and I chose to stay here because our daughter was playing a rugby match locally the hotel was part of the devere applause scheme so made sense. The stay and the food was good although there was a wedding the night before it had little impact on our stay.

7.5/10Beautiful setting, delicious food. However, the whole experience felt rushed. Ordered a cocktail, then our dinner and a bottle of wine. Cocktail arrived, then the wine and the food shortly after, I hadn’t finished my cocktail. Meal was lovely. No real complaint, I just wish the whole evening and set up was a big slower in pace

5.5/10Sunday lunch for five. Standard Sunday lunch that’s not going to blow you away. Food was ok but you wouldn’t rush back for £30 for a starter and main course. Plenty of food but you’d expect something a little bit more up market at Tortworth. We thought we’d be in the main restaurant area where I ate some years ago, but we were shown into a more cafeteria area which was a bit disappointing. So I think three stars is about right. Pretty standard fair that you can get anywhere really

6.5/10Booked on line for 1300 reception pointed us towards the Fork it was empty just one member of staff who asked us if we were there for afternoon tea. Said we booked for a meal he said we were not open today. Went back to reception who said go to the atrium went there told the barman we had a table booked he said no need to book the atrium he then took us back to reception he discussed it with them. We were told to go back to the atrium where we ate. Not a very pleasant experience.

8/10The setting is beautifully traditional with great views out over the gardens. Nicely laid tables with comfy chairs. I was having afternoon tea with three friends. We occupied one of only four tables so it was quiet, although we had plenty of our own ambience! The food was delicious with a good selection of savoury and sweet treats. The staff were very polite however, they could have been a little bit more attentive, as we had to get up twice to ask/remind them of a couple of requests. Would recommend and would love to visit again.
