Really enjoyed our experience in the Brasserie. Maisie our server was great. We enjoyed the pianist which made a great ambience and the food was fantastic. Tried the sea-trout and it was amazing and the fillet steak my partner had was cooked to perfection. There was very large groups in but we still felt looked after. Trevor the manager was very friendly and accommodating. We are looking forward to returning again in the future. Thanks for a great evening.

Had dinner at this restaurant.. food was good unfortunately I wanted a mixed grill but it was out of stock.. but didn't get told what wasn't on the menu so had to rush to pick something else.. The service was really poor! I had one guy nearly coming to serve us then the other table called him over and he didn't come back to us! We were waiting for 15 mins to get seen by. The next table to us kindly mentioned we have been waiting for a long time. Our table was booked at 8.15pm. We didn't order until 8.45pm! I would understand if it was really busy because it only had a couple of tables. But when the food arrived it was good I had the curry and partner had the burger.

Booked as a surprise for my wife,was disappointed as on dinner menu a few meals not available,due to hotel fully booked Saturday night,we’ll I’m sorry it’s bad management I feel,they knew in advance how busy they would be,had the duck parfait which was ok nothing special I’m afraid…

Why I gave it 2 stars as the food was good but the service was shocking I booked back in June wanted a table for 11 got two separate tables we didn't bother with Dessert as it took over an hour to take our order

The Hotel itself is totally outdated and needs an urgent upgrade. The decor in the Restaurant reminds me of an East Berlin Hotel before the wall was brought down. The furniture in the room we stayed in was also outdated and there was no Sky Sports channel that we were hoping for. A long track was required from reception to find our room. The signage to find our room was inadequate and we came across many residents whom we list in the many long corridors and various lift changes trying to find their room. This also applied to trying to find the way to the pool and gym. The best part of the Hotel experience was drinking in the Bunker Bar in the golf complex that's if you could find it. The staff were very friendly and helpful and at least they had sports on the television there where you could sit in a relaxing atmosphere. The main lounge bar in the hotel was inadequately stocked and service was spasmodic, to say the least. Bar food snacks were reasonable but being served with a ploughman's and forgetting to add the cheese was unforgivabl. I don't think I would visit Dunston Hall again until it has a major refurbishment.

The restaurant requires updating, on our first meal we ordered a bottle of good white wine. This was brought to tge table warm, it was quickly returned and replaced tge other issue I had was the menus had food on them not very hygienic. The other problem when I ask for vinegar it came covered in tomato ketchup. All this was relayed to the management and on our next visit the issues were not repeated so its good to see feed back received and acted on. The food was very nice and as expected from the menu description.

Really good food and wine. Wonderful service and such chatty and friendly staff. Our toddler was being rather loud at times (!) and she was tolerated so well and staff came up to say hello which was very nice. All in all an excellent meal with a good atmosphere and lovely members of staff. Thank you so much as it’s hard eating out with a two year old.

So let’s start with the positives… our waitress Ruby was 10/10. She couldn’t be more apologetic for the slow and cold food. She was friendly and on the ball. Our food… I had the tomahawk steak, you expect this to come out on the bone… it’s known as a cowboy steak and at £66 you expect it to blow you away. It arrived cut up without a bone looking very underwhelming. My partner had the belly of pork… she described it as cold and chewy, something not worth waiting an hour and a half for. We were seated at 1930, we completed our meal at 2215… by no choice of our own. The atmosphere in the restaurant was extremely frustrated, with tables telling war stories about how long each have been waiting for a main course. Wouldn’t bother, if you’re staying at the hotel… go out for dinner.

It wasn't obvious how to enter the building when we arrived, only the hotel reception is sign posted. The staff didn't seem to be expecting us and once the tea was on the table we had to wait a ridiculous time for the food to arrive. I didn't like that the food is on a floor standing unit and not on the table, for 3 of us we had only 2 each of the sweet selection and only one plain scone each. We had to keep asking the staff for tea top ups. The sweet selection wasn't as sumptuous as I was expecting, having asked for a 3rd one of each we were delivered a random plate of different sweet options which looked much more what we were expecting. Another table had to complain about their lack of service etc whilst we were there. And having booked our slot on line we were told while we were eating that they needed to clear the room we were in as it was being used for a wedding reception. The food was nice but I won't bother going back or recommend it to friends.

Food was lovely, I am not normally a carvery person but the chefs here done an amazing job, I had the beef and gammon which was so succulent and the chocolate fondant for dessert was so delicious. The staff were lovely and attentive and the price was very reasonable. Looking forward to my wedding there in 7 months :-)

Quite expensive for what it is. Not especially luxurious or intimate. Used one of their gift cards but they couldn’t get it to read and we’re going to decline it until they went away to try again and then accepted it. The bar is very nice but frankly there are much better restaurants in the area.
