Came for an early lunch. Left very satisfied. Was the first customer in and received table water and ordered edamame and a beer while I waited for my friend. Enjoyed excellent Japanese Izakaya-style food. Some dishes had more contemporary/western twist which I largely enjoyed. Hamachi carpaccio had great flavour and spicy tuna roll had a new (to me) way of achieving moderate spice which I enjoyed. Nasu dengaku was slightly sweet for me but this is more a preference thing. I would’ve preferred a more marinated agedashi tofu in a more traditional sense though. Service was excellent and only regret not ordering some of their tea selection which I only discovered afterwards. Very clean and tidy place all round (toilets, seating, stations) and was good to be able to see some of the chefs at work too. I have recommended Edo Izakaya to my Japanese mother and friends!

The food was soso, it wasn't bad but not good either. My partner and I were disappointed. The taste was flate. When we saw the photos on the fork, we expected something so much better. We told the manager about what we thought because this venue has good potential. She told us that the menu will be changed, but I think that the cook needs to change something, not the menu needs to be changed. The waitress was lovely. We discussed a lot with her. And the service was fast.

Tatami and sushi was fresh and well presented. The kimchi rice had too much sauce. The miso pork was tough and salty and had to be returned to the kitchen. Overpriced without the 50% promotion.

Second time coming here. First time was great we only had sushi rolls, bao bun and tataki. This time it wasn’t so great unfortunately. The sushi rolls and large plate came as same time. And bao bun 1minute later so this was very cold when eaten. Quite loud in the restaurant as well.

The fast speed music isn’t match with atmosphere for the restaurant, makes it feels not relax and more like clubs instead.
