10/10Food was fabulous, we shared the hot platter main. It had a great mixed of seafood. Glass of fizz and then wine with food. Lovely. Been there a few times and will be going back

6/10We have been here before twice and my husband loved it and I bought him for Christmas a meal in your restaurant and a couple of nights in Brighton , we had a lovely meal but he was looking forward to a cold platter for one and the mixed sharers for 2 , but we had a nice evening and hope to come back soon xx

6.5/10I have been a regular customer for sometime now. I was really looking forward to the evening but unfortunately the food was disappointing and not up to the usual standard . They have also stopped doing the set menus all evening and its limited to pre theatre . I know times are hard for restaurants but they are hard for customers too. However the staff were as usual excellent and it still felt special despite the disappointing food.

8/10We had the pre-theatre 2 course and a glass of wine offer. The food was good and service was excellent but that might have been that there were only two tables occupied. I guess January is a quiet month for dining out? Would dine at English’s again.

9.5/10The service is superb here. It was a birthday celebration and I brought my husband here for a treat. We were having a superb time until a rather noisy group came in and seated next to us. Luckily we were nearly finished so it didn’t affect us too much. Why can’t people learn how to talk quietly in a restaurant t is beyond me. The food was delicious, the location wonderful and the decor was great. Thank you so much for a superb dinner.

10/10Fantastic visit. We did not have much time due to train problems, but that did not stop us from having a lovely dinner. Service was wonderful, very welcoming staff. Thank you too for the glasses of Prosecco on arrival. The bread, butter and mackeral pate are just right. Wonderful wine list and we enjoyed that. My son had two starters of enormous prawns and scallops. I had the half lobster thermidor and it was absoluely spot on, and not too big. Very sweet meat and dressing was superb. Thank you all and best wishes for 2025!

10/10I booked stable a few weeks before for my brothers birthday. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant we felt special.Great ambiance , really tasty food and friendly professional staff. Will definitely return and have recommended to my friends.

9.5/10I thought this wouldn't be my cup of tea. Bit of fine dining. The food was as great as expected. But I enjoyed the feel of the place, mainly through the staff, really pleasant, attentive but not overly and just nice ! Really made it.

This restaurant is a wonderful treat .. our (sharing).fish platter was a cornucopia of loveliness paired with a superb picpoule - the decor - the quality of the food and smiley service made a wonderful evening

10/10Had the hot seafood platter. quantity and quality of seafood was very good. Drink options reasonably priced. my only complaint is the bread and pate offered is not free. I think this should be made clear to everyone as not everyone would want to pay the 2.50pp cover charge especially as most places offer this for free.

10/10I was on a romantic weekend with my partner and we had a truly magical experience at English's of Brighton. The food was divine, the service was impeccable, and we left very happy customers. We will absolutely be recommending this restaurant to our friends and will visit the next time we are back. Thank you, English's team for a lovely meal and evening!

4.5/10We were really excited to visit English’s as it’s been in Brighton for so long, but unfortunately we were disappointed. For the price, the food was underwhelming and portions were small. For instance, I ordered lobster Thermidor and there was barely any meat. The service was very friendly and professional, but was lacking the attention you’d expect for these prices and compared to similar restaurants. Also the restaurant is in need of some tlc, toilets and carpets (for instance) are very tired and again, don’t represent the price point. Charging table cover alongside service charge also felt unnecessary, especially given the experience. Hoping this is constructive feedback as we’d love to come back for a better experience. But in the meantime there are some great seafood restaurants in Brighton which we’ll visit instead.
