5/10Whilst the initial seating service was good and all staff were polite etc, we felt there were a few things to be improved. We only received one set of seafood tools, for a platter for two people...two would have been better. We didn't get offered finger bowls, these would have been really useful. A waiter removed the shell bowl to replace it and never returned, we had to ask for another. Small things, but they make the difference especially at the menu prices, you expect top service.

5.5/10Staff were very nice. Disappointed with the small amount of food for the high prices. Also £17.50 for a glass of white wine is not acceptable.

5.5/10Wasn’t the special treat that I had hoped for . I filled in reason for the booking ( special Thank you to my sister) but no mention was made . Music too loud , felt abandoned in the back room . Food ok - nicely cooked - but very expensive. Staff very pleasant but clearly rushed.

8.5/10A great menu and lots of good options for fish aficionados - a little light on vege but the waiting and kitchen staff were super kind and helpful in rustling up alternatives for our one non-fish-eater. All of our fish options were delicious! Nice sunny room looking on to gorgeous George Street, a little noisy when full (lots of hard surfaces and scraping chair legs) but much more mellow once it emptied a bit. Much enjoyed.

10/10Visited with an old Uni friend on Easter Sunday. Quiet when we arrived but great service and well cooked food. The calimari and octopus starter were wonderful and the sharing Brill main course delicious. After a bottle of ice cold picpoul, by the time we finished with a couple of ‘happy hour’ chilli margaritas, the restaurant was full and a lovely atmosphere. Will revisit!

10/10Food was excellent . We particularly liked the seared scallops for starters and the tuna for mains. Sam, our host, was amazing.

6.5/10The promoted ‘Seafood Boil Experience for 2’ was disappointing... they had run out of mussels so substituted with clams.... but the only seafood there was 6 King prawns and a lot of tiny clams in a nice sauce. The dessert menu was also disappointing ... no relation to the on-line menu ... and in the dim light, difficult to read in tiny brown font on brown card. Cutlery & crockery Seemed inappropriate ... tiny little plates ... had to ask for a knife. Waiter was anxious to please & helpful.

3.5/10A less than memorable meal at The Flute was had by myself and my partner on Saturdays night . First was the booking , as there was no trace of my booking on their system, but we were seated quickly. Then there was the food, the starter of Salmon was OK and the 3 Kedgeree Arancini was also OK. Bu the main star of a meal was very, very poor. My partner fish pie was more like a bowl of mash, as it was lacking the main ingredient FISH. A few pieces of salmon and one prawn on top of the pie really does not do a fish pie justice, especially when paying £18 . Then we come to my main of Fish and chips at a cost of about £18 . When does a beaker of French fries ( not chips ) and about 3 or 4 fish gujons constitute fish and chips. This restaurant needs to do simple things right. Thank God for The Fork reduction, for which I had to prompt them to do , as the bill for two starter's two mains and two glasses of champagne would have come to £102. If the management would like to reach out and discuss any points I have raised I'm more than happy to provide my phone number and details...would I eat here again .. definitely not unless they up there game ..

10/10Went for a romantic couple dinner, loved the twist on classic seafood dishes from the chef, reasonable price for high quality ingredients and freshness. There was a great host which i think his name is Sam! Will be definitely back when in town

9.5/10Excellent food. Good wines also. Helpful staff, just a bit slow but didn’t spoil the evening as we weren’t in a hurry. I would recommend it if you like fish. 👍🏻

7.5/10Unfortunately they had run out of Sole at 7:30pm and suggested Brill which was lovely and with 50% off this month it was a great deal. I think they should space out tables more and remove red LED lights from window and they would be 5star
