The food was excellent. Best lamb I’ve had in years. We asked to move tables but the waiter said she would ask but never came back! Very noisy.

First visit to the brasserie and had requested window table which we were given with stunning views. Service was fantastic throughout with a complimentary glass of wine as they had run out of our chosen wine. A really lovely touch and set the standard for the rest of our visit. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the wine list and offered an alternative recommendation which was helpful. Food was fresh and delicious. Again our waiter was knowledgable and able to easily answer our questions regarding various dishes. What really stood out was the high standard of service right from being greeted at the entrance and throughout our lunch. We didn’t feel rushed or under pressure to give the table back which unfortunately appears to be a post Covid legacy. Our waiter was charming, respectful and made us feel very valued as customers. Again something that hospitality appears to have become a little lax at. Good menu from snacks and lighter bites to main meals averaging £28-£25. Wine list good and not overly priced for Edinburgh. Only negative was noise level as it got busier but our table was tucked away so not too bad. A really nice experience and will most certainly be back. Well done HN

The situation of the restaurant with views over St Andrew Square is what makes it special. Because there is no carpet on the floor there is quite a bit of echo so it’s not overly easy to chat. Initially the service was good but after our food was delivered we were not asked if me wanted more food or drinks.

Food and service good but let down by very loud music ( was turned down a bit when requested). Lighting that was so low we couldn’t read the menu, and toilets that were messy paper lying on the floor and soap not replenished.

The food the drinks, the view! All were perfect. We highly recommend for special occasion meals and date nights, especially fir dinner, when you can watch the sun gradually set over the beautiful cityscape.

65 th birthday treat, had planned on afternoon tea but mixed up booking totallymy fault. Could have rebooked but decided on lunch. Want disappointment in the least.Fabulous ,food amazing and cocktails to die for. Staff brilliant and service amazing. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you.

I thought the service from the staff was outstanding. However the food I thought was something I could quite cook at home without any thought. I did expect better on that front. The overall ambience and atmosphere around the place though was great. I’d say it was a 4/5 star and enjoyed my experience. I wouldn’t go here purely for the food though as there are better options for the price.

HN have done a super job with social distancing in the restaurant. We felt very safe. The food was excellent and the service was first class. We had a window table and there was a great space between us and the neighbouring tables. The shop uses the front entrance for going in and the side door for leaving. Staff were very helpful and there was a good atmosphere.
