9/10The staff. Every last one was super attentive and friendly without being in your face. Would like to have seen more vegetables on the plate. You needed side dishes at extra cost to make it a proper meal size

8.5/10We are regular customers there and we had a birthday celebration. I have asked to bring my dessert at the same time as my tea. Tea arrived first. Dessert took more than 10 min afterwards. By that time tea was not hot and enjoyable. Slightly disappointed…

It’s a lovely rural restaurant with a nice menu, well worth making a journey to it (I travelled from Kent but I was headed to Maldon). Will visit again when I’m next in the area.

10/10We all enjoyed our visit to the Galvin Green Man. The food was amazing. Our uncle said it was the best meal he had eaten in years. We will definitely return.

9/10We had a lovely meal for my wife’s birthday. Good food from start to finish. Our only concern was the wine. We asked for advice on what we were eating but although the wine was expensive , the wine was not a good taste and tasted like a cheap wine. Very disappointed.

9.5/10First time for us here and it has been great: Sunday lunch, sunny and 20 degrees, the perfect conditions to eat on the terrace. Traditional English food , very well prepared. Good variety of Italian and French wine, at the glass as well, that is what we took. Only improbable aspect, the service can be faster: they were full, so I guess they were at the limit. Still good. We will go back, no doubt.

6/10The venue and ambience is lovely. However the food wasn’t as good as I hoped for. Chicken was over cooked and lacked any flavour. Beetroot and goats cheese salad was ok - I’ve had better.

9.5/10The food and service were excellent, the only small issue is the noise. Like a lot of restaurants now, there are no soft furnishing/carpets to dampen the noise in a large open space, and it makes it difficult for conversation.

9/10Lovely meal, we had the set menu which was delicious and great value in comparison to the full menu, which is pricey, but the food was high quality and the staff lovely. Service did slow down a bit as the restaurant got busier but not too problematic and the extra little touches for the birthday celebration were lovely

7.5/10First time visit. Whilst the food was good. The waiting staff were very disjointed. We had declined water at the table so glasses were taken away. Within minutes another person put new glasses on our table. Drinks ordered to come with main meal ( suggested wine) came after we had finished dinner. Overall a good meal with hopefully just an off day (Sunday ) with serving staff. Will give it another go at a quieter time

It was my first with a friend and I loved it. The food was great and the ambience was lovely. Easy going and friendly. Not cheap but good quality was really good and service was fab. Will definitely be back!

10/10My son and his partner were over from Tasmania so we wanted somewhere special to take them. Food and drink were superb. Great choice of 0 alcohol drinks. Lovely table overlooking garden. Staff were attentive but not obtrusive..

9.5/10Great venue and delicious food. Staff were attentive and fully knowledgeable of the menu. Very helpful with allergy requirements and reassuring when the food was served. We had guests from overseas and this was my first visit to The Green Man, I will be sure to return

9.5/10Really pleased to find a place like this so close to home. Great service, friendly and helpful staff, great food, highly recommendable tropical punch. Music could be better but that's the only minor note of improvement. Will definitely return in the near future.

6/10We opted for the £25 lunch menu. I won’t do that again my starter of mackerel I thought was a weird presentation there was something on the dish that was not good and I couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was I actually saw some other people question it too. I couldn’t eat mine but I was offered an alternative to be fair which I declined. I opted for the pork with couscous which was ok. Next time I’ll go Al La carte. Take a look at the lunch menu at the lunch menu at The Felix in Billericay absolutely fabulous!

8.5/10I have been going to the green man since it opened and have always had good food . Unfortunately in recent times the menu has not changed much , for instance I had the same things to choose from today (20/4) as when I went last (16/3) . The welcome and customer service have always been excellent.

6/10this as been our favorite restaurant for a few years , we bought our friends for a meal last night what a disappointment ordered two soups one from the set menu one from al a carte roll with the al a carte soup and no roll the set menu at your prices we would expect a roll with set menu. the clearing of our table two plates where collect and place in the corner of our table then the third plate was collect and place on the pile of plates then again with the fourth plate then removed from table I have never seen service like it !!!It was sorry disappointing if felt as those the business had changed hands. PS we had our wedding breakfast with 4 years OK
