The food was great delicious especially the beef tartare. The handsome waiter made to mix the ingredients with the fresh mince beef in front of us. It's very interesting. The fresh homemade Madelines were also unexpected good! Yummy! Pls don't forget the beef steak too!

We came to enjoy our traditional Galette des Rois , but it was dry the top of the cake has a funny aspect the front was missing . I wish we ordered it in one of the French patisserie in London .

My wife and I are regulars at this excellent French brasserie situated within the stylish art nouveau premises of the French Institute in South Kensington. We have always found the quality of the cuisine first class, varied and imaginative. The ambiance is usually lively, with customers often enjoying a meal or a snack after watching a French or international film at one of the two cinemas within the Institute. We shall return,

Our welcome was pleasant but there was a rather chaotic air about ordering drinks and the service was pretty slow. There was no Scotch whisky on offer,(only Irish and Bourbon!) and the three glasses of white wine ordered as a second choice were not exciting or cold. The Chateaubriand for two was a good piece of beef, well-served rare, but rather dry. The ambiance was fine and the meal an enjoyable experience. However previous visits and service were better organised and presented. Maybe this was an off night. It is worth giving the Gazette a second chance from previous happier experience.

A pleasant little restaurant but austere and noisy when there is a large group of other dinners. There is no attemp to provide acoustic insulation and all surfaces are hard . Not sure I would rush back despite the food being ok and the service being excellent. Hopefully the owners will read this and do something about the noise

The food was as good as ever and the service relaxed and friendly. I think the atmosphere was better than on earlier visits, which is possibly a function of larger numbers! Perhaps news of the Gazette is spreading and deservedly so. Thanks to all.

Was a pleasant stay but the service was very slow Good quality food. We had a good starter but took ages to serve us the main course and when it arrived was cold The we had to wait more time for the dessert At the end we spent 2 hrs in a restaurant But the food was very nice

We were excited to visit our local Gazette, as we only recently discovered it, however we have been to at least 3 of their other locations. Our initial impression of this one, however, was a little wrinkly, as we waited a minute or so to be seated to an almost empty restaurant (it was 6pm). By the entrance, there was some sort of storage room spilling out its contents. Once the host arrived, there was some back and forth regarding our booking via the fork — apparently, bookings are not supposed to be for the same day, but the day after, which was confusing. Anyway, eventually we sat down and were attended by 2 lovely girls. The food was the deliciousness one has come to expect from Gazette. We had oysters for starters, then the moules and a bavette steak, all with a great bottle of viognier. The restaurant slowly filled up to a nice buzzy atmosphere of mixed diners. My only observation (and only in contrast to other Gazette locations) is that the room feels quite ‘clinical’, with too much white and lighting. It might be nice to add some panelling or warm/lower lighting to make it more cozy.

If you are looking for traditional French cuisine in the heart of South Kensington, Gazette is the place to go. From the beginning of the experience, you will be welcome by the lovely staff there. The food and atmosphere are fantastic. I will highly recommend it to everyone who is a food lover! It is a 5 out of 5!
