    The restaurant was busy with quite a nice buzz and live music that wasn't too loud. The food was tasty but a bit average. For example, the foccacia bread was stone cold, as if it was just out of the fridge. We told them and they took it away and microwaved it. The lasagne was burnt around the top. Luckily the person eating it was OK with that, but many wouldn't be. My seafood pasta was tasty, but some of the seafood wasn't warm, as if it had been added last minute and not given enough time to warm up. All in all, it was all ok, tasty enough, but not great.

    Pros - Ideal location for pre theatre meal . Spacious and bright Attentive staff Cons - Pre theatre menu could have had more choice . There were surcharges for basic items on the menu so you had little choice but to pay extra . Disappointed that the set price didn’t include sides so again you were forced to pay more or you basically ended up with a piece of salmon with 2 small asparagus. I didn’t realise this until it came to the table ( probably my fault for not reading menu properly but maybe this could have been pointed out when we ordered ) I think the whole idea of a set menu price is that you know what you’re paying … not get hit with surcharges for the basics . I’m not sure I’ll be back for this reason .

    Jess was the most perfect member of the team, she made us feel so welcome and was attentive without ever being obtrusive. Her lovely smile really warmed up an otherwise cold and very wet day!

    Arrived and ordered wine straight away, to have to wait 45 minutes for it! Ordered from the theatre menu but just got out in time! Wouldn't recommend

    Food excellent, slight issue on the ordering. I only wanted a pizza ( not on the theatre menu). Waiter tried to make me pay for a sweet as he said I was on the theatre menu. He conceded quickly and all was well! No toilet paper in the toilets

    The food was very good when it arrived, being an hour late and missing part of it. Due to time constraints I was unable to send my meal back. Our waitress was excellent, she apologised for the delay and the missing item, removed it from the bill and offered complimentary desserts. I was disappointed considering my previous visit was excellent, will give them another chance!

    Waited an hour to be told that our starters weren’t available. Food poor quality. No time for dessert as we were heading for a show. Drinks incorrect and bill had to be corrected twice. Such a shame as we were taking our parents for a pre show meal.

    While other chain Italians sit closely by in Manchester, I would swing around and and choose Don Giovanni’s. Beautiful . All aspects of this restaurant make it a real go to restaurant. Authentic, high quality food, great menu. Superb service. A classic and well be back soon.

    Having arrived a few minutes early we were able to wait for our table in a comfortable area.However, the seating area was extremely tight and we were asked to pull our seats in a few times just so the waiter could pass. The starters were simply awful. Pate that was covered in salt and tasted like it had been in stock for a while and was being served on its sell by date disguised by heavily salted sprinkles. Scallops smelled on the border of being ‘off’. True brits don’t complain but having said that we couldn’t get anyone’s attention anyway. We ate in the hope that it was ‘just us’ but paid for it later with stomach cramps. This completely spoiled our evening concert having travelled from Wales we had to head home at the interval. The main course…. We sat waiting for this for almost one hour until finally a waiter spotted us and fled to the kitchen… it then arrived a few minutes later. Mains were also laden with salt but we hadn’t got time to finish. £92 in the end. Appalling

    Service was slow, very busy, probably due to timing ie before a show at the palace, a mix up with starters (we were served twice with starters), I had the ragu pasta which was very average and looked like it had spent too long under the pass, one positive was the barman who makes a mean Negroni.
