Excellent Sunday roast which was cooked perfectly. The desserts were beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. Service was great. Super celebration birthday meal, maybe more expensive than some chain restaurants but the food and the service were definitely worth it. Highly recommend.

We went for the Sunday Roast and the roast beef was just superb. The meat is supplied by a local butcher, that we know to be excellent. Our son was particularly impressed by the crispy roast potatoes. The service matched the food with friendly efficient waiters. A great choice, both dish ordered and The Golden Bull itself

8/10Our 1st visit. Pricey but on a par with Miller & Carter. Our server (Carl - South African lad!) was enthusiastic and helpful and we had a fun time chatting with him. Couple of minor points though. Both our steaks required resting further but with our 8 year old in tow the quick service suited us thus time. The other thing was my starter arriving first (exactly the same as my wife's) and served to me then 3/4 mins my wife's arrived. I'm old school... serve ladies first. I'm sure this is all about supply and demand and we are also lucky our boy is adventurous with food. Child portions of the mains would be great. His kid's burger was pretty poor as far as burgers go and would put me off ordering an adult version. Our steaks were delicious and the scallops good too. "Serving bread" would have been appreciated... but doesn't seem to be a thing anymore. The Puglia red was very good and i loved my Doom Bar. We had a nice evening, the staff were good and happy to return in the New Year.

9/10Lovely ambience - exceptional starters, porterhouse steak was beautifully cooked, chips were cold but all in all wonderful, Toilets could do with checking and cleaning as someone with a very poor aim or who had drunk too much had made a fair mess. Lovely evening

10/10We had Chateaubriand to share and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive and their suggestions we spot on. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

10/10Lovely food and atmosphere! Everything we had to eat was great, well presented and my partner wanted a bowl of strawberries for pudding which wasn’t on the menu which they provided. You could say it’s a bowl of strawberries, but you’ll be surprised how many restaurants say no! The staff were friendly and made our evening. Highly recommended

10/10We went to celebrate our anniversary. On arrival we were given a complimentary glass of prosecco with a strawberry. This was such a thoughtful touch. Our server was excellent. He was polite and attentive. We felt looked after and welcome. The food was very good. I had the fillet steak which was beautiful. We loved the Mediterranean flavours which made a change from the usual steak sides. I didn't order a sweet but we were given a small complimentary chocolate browny on a decorated plate saying happy anniversary. Another thoughtful touch. All in all a lovely experience thank you.
