Absolutely gorgeous food tonight, the decor is lovely. We didn't realise this was chef Tong's restaurant, when we did we mentioned how much we enjoyed his food from hkk. He came out to say hello, a very nice man, we wish the entire team the very best of luck and success.

The service seemed to be busy and important, but in fact not really attentive. The food was below quality (even for a Chinese restaurant abroad). We did not even wait for the last course but left earlier.

We had the Chinese New Year menu today. The food is really authentic. We particularly like the crispy pipa chicken, the sea whelk soup on the menu. Also the crispy duck with black truffles on the A La Carte menu is delicious. The food reminds us of the Cantonese cuisine back home. Great ambience with bright light and comfortable seating. Thank you!

The staff said we had to inform them in advance before we order to say we booked via The Fork with a discount. This should not be the case and its not the case at other merchants at all, i.e we shouldn’t have to separately inform them. They need to improve their procedures

Excellent place - food, service, ambience. We came with three kids and their food was prepared quick, overall attentive service and nice table offered for the birthday celebration. Excellent dim sum and amazing sweet and sour chicken, rice noodles with prawns - absolute favourite for our smallest who is usually very picky. Thanks, we will return!

Ate here Sunday Jan 12. Food was lovely - if a bit sparse considering the prices. Service was top notch up until the point they came back to ask us for the 1 p (yea, one single penny) they had managed to undercharge us when splitting a £1000 bill across 6 people, which included a £125 service charge. This sadly left a bad taste in the mouth.

Took some friends here for a birthday treat and everyone enjoyed it. The dim sum is excellent, with great skin work on the Cheng fun and Xiao Long Bao. The wagyu pancake was juicy and fragrant but it could do with more seasoning. Then Chinese tea selection here is also noteworthy - loose leaf teas hand bundled in tea bags. Desserts are really fun and dramatic, so worth the order especially if it's for a special occasion. We will be back to try the lobster and duck tasting menus!

The food quality is sublime. I must say that for the price that you are charged, it is slightly excessive. I am now understanding why there were only about 6 other people in the restaurant. The staff were fantastic and made us feel at home, alongside spending lots of generous time running us through the menu. I look forward to returning to Gouqi very soon.

Lovely food. Strange one could not get a Chinese beer and had to do with Asahi Super Dry. Service was attentive. The restaurant was nice but the ambience was missing.

The food was fantastic, but the corkage policy was puzzling, and frankly, quite rude. We went there for Mother's day, and I brought with me a bottle of wine. They refused to tell us the corkage policy before inspecting the wine (I had told them that it was a bottle of white). When I asked why, they said they charge different amounts for wines of different prices/quality. My particular bottle was worth around 50GBP, on which they wanted to charge 50 (no thank you!). I have been to 1000s of restaurants all over the world, and this has not happened to me a single time before.

Fantastic Chinese food in an elegant restaurant. Food was very authentic and tasty. Had a nice bar and an extensive tea list. The Premium Oolong tea after lunch was sublime. My second time here - its in a quiet area - away from the crazy tourist areas and yet close to shopping and other activities

The dim sum was beautiful and well made, but those with pork were tough and chewy. The prawn and crab were packed with good produce, but tasted under seasoned. This necessitated to dip them in the chilli sauces, but that ended up being the dominant flavour. Stunning presentation and great produce, let down by bland flavours. However, the crispy eel cheung fun was lovely, as was the Char Siu buns.

We initially thought the portion was very small but by the time we got to desserts we could not eat any more. The food presentation was beautiful and the quality was excellent. Service was very smooth and staff very friendly. It was my wife’s birthday and they kindly brought out some petit Fleur’u with a little candle. Nice gesture. Likely to go back

really bad experience, 3 people for Valentine’s Day menu, and they provide same as the other table for two，and explain our tiger prawn is bigger size, that is impossible, the tiger prawn near my table even bigger than mine, They're just trying to get past it. 150£ for one, and totally we paid 550£ for the courses that provide for 2 people.

Service was great..place is nice, but good is above average, but very overpriced. Maybe I was expecting more from the hype and the chef's previous experience. I was only impressed with 2 dishes out of all the ones we had. Love to support, but won't be back as the price to food quality is not worth it.

Food quality was not even close to fine dining standard. Can’t represent Chinese high end cuisine at all. Not worth the price.
