6/10I had been on Oct 2024 and it was amazing, great ambience, setting and food. I made this booking to find the doors chained shut, and then a guy ushered us upstairs. It was like a school hall, big, very cold and no ambience at all. The food was good (not amazing as last time) - guys get some proper mango chutney for poppodums… The service was ok but until they find new premises I could not recommend anyone to go.

4/10This was our first visit to Ghurka Durbar and, unfortunately, will be the last. The place is being refurbed, which we weren’t aware of when we booked, so the current seating is upstairs in a soulless, stark room with no atmosphere, which I would have happily overlooked had the food been good. We ordered a drink each and 4 poppadoms while choosing our mains, the poppadoms came with the standard 3 little pots of mango chutney (a bit runny, no chunks but fine) another accompaniment (not sure what it was but, again, ok) and a pot of, what I assume was meant to be a yoghurt/raita but was the consistency of milk (semi skimmed at that) also, the poppadoms were stale and certainly not freshly cooked. At this point we decided to pay for the drinks we’d had and go elsewhere. The waiter was very apologetic and offered to change the items but, the fact that the kitchen would send out a yoghurt dip as runny as milk and stale poppadoms and expect us to be ok with it did not sit well, so we left.

9/10We've always loved the GD but the food was especially delicious on this occasion. The service is always first rate. The usual ground floor restaurant is being reshaped and we were upstairs - an attractive but perhaps a little over-lit, rather cool atmosphere. Hopefully the renovation will go well but meanwhile the main reason to visit is the food - and that remains brilliant

9/10The food was amazing, staff were attentive. The restaurant was going through a refurb so we ate upstairs. We were the only ones in on a Tuesday night but the food made up for the lack of atmosphere.

8/10Restaurant was spacious, tables not close together. Waiter was a little slow to take our order as they had many take away orders. However the food arrived quickly and the service was great from then. Food was good. We tried some of the Nepalese dishes and they were a nice change from the usual curries. Spiced lamb chops and Goat curry, both very enjoyable.

10/10A beautiful restaurant with attentive, helpful staff. The food was amazing as always with a menu that gives the choice of starters, tapas small plates and an extensive range of Currys and sizzling dishes. Food is beautifully presented and spiced and we all really enjoyed it. Thanks and we will see you again.

10/10We booked a table having never been to this restaurant before. The service was excellent and the wait time was minimal. But the food - it was beautiful, initially we were disappointed with the lack of vegetable side dishes but then our food arrived. Absolutely beautiful. We will definately be returning.

5.5/10After quickly being given our poppodums, we waited for 20 mins before being given our drink order - after I had gone to the bar to ask for. There were only five tables occupied, so wasn't busy. Our main course took an hour to arrive - we were on the point of leaving to get a takeaway somewhere! We had a goat curry, lamb curry, dhall and naans. The flavours were all very good, but We were hungry by this time. Our table was beside a dj set up, which were told wouldn't be starting til 10pm. We had only just finished eating by then. Luckily, no music was forthcoming as the restaurant had emptied. We wouldn't returñ :(
