The restaurant is a hidden gem. I think it was the best Indian meal I have ever had. The attention to detail was splendid and the taste combinations were amazing. The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble and they were rightly proud of the food

Discovered this amazing restaurant 2 doors away from where I was staying. Best Indian food ever, authentic, fresh, delightful chef who brought out a delicious amouse bouche, and a cabbage, chick pea vegetable combo. Fantastic service, don’t miss out on this if you’re in Edinburgh you will not be disappointed .

The food was delicious, delightful and prepared perfectly. We were staying in the tourist area and made a special trip there which was well worth it. Wish I could eat there on a regular basis but sadly I live across the pond.

Haldi provides a wonderful dining experience. The cuisine is exquisite, every item delicious. Yesterday (our 3rd visit) the paneer entree and the rose-flavoured kulfi were particularly delightful, but we also loved the biryani and the black lentil dal. all their ingredients are freshly produced from scratch, and it really shows - Haldi is so much more than a conventional British Indian 'curry house'.

A hidden gem. Well worth the walk/bus away from the centre. The flavours were so unique and tasty I was asking for a jar of sauce to take home. Probably the best indian we've ever had! We ate from the a la carte menu but will be back for the tasting menu. Incredible service. Thank you

We really enjoyed our dinner. The restaurant was warm and inviting. Our waiter/owner was extremely helpful, attentive and polite! He made us feel wanted and special. The food was excellent and we walked out very full and satisfied. We told some friends about the restaurant and they visited it the night after we went and enjoyed it also.

As a visitor to Edinburgh, this was a fabulous find. The food was creative and very accomplished and I had a wonderful meal. No tikka masala or garlic chilli chicken on this menu but an interesting selection of dishes served by a front of house trio that were friendly and knowledgeable. Many customers are clearly from the neighbourhood and this familiarity added atmosphere in comparison with the tourist dominated alternatives 10 minutes away. A superb fins and definitely one to return to.
