5.5/10I had pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. When it arrived the bacon was cold and was not very appetising. I was extremely disappointed as on this occasion'

10/10We enjoyed a wonderful birthday meal at the Harvester in Stanway, Colchester, Essex. The effort and willingness expressed by out waitress (Laura) was worthy of high praise. This employee worked tirelessly in make the evening a huge success. Thank you, Bill

8.5/10We love going to the Harvester always a good atmosphere, the staff are friendly and the food is good . The only one complaint I have is a member of staff came to our table to serve us smelling of cigarettes which was a bit off putting

8.5/10Our table was ready when we arrived and there was a warm and friendly welcome. The restaurant was extremely busy and they had sold out of the chicken which was disappointing but suitable substitutes were offered. Our meals were all excellent and our waitress looked after us well. Will definitely return.

6/10The waitress had no idea how to serve. She came up with our main coursewhilst two of us were still eating starters. She wanted to leave it on the table but we insisted she return it to the Kitchen until we were ready. Never had such bad service. We were seated to the left as you enter the restaurant, haven't day there before. The staff on the other side are excellent, can't speak have they enough!!

Very easy to book on line and the staff worked brilliant. A very special mention to our waitress Claire who made us feel special throughout our dining experience. She worked tirelessly and fully deserved this high recognition of acknowledgement. The food was second to none and everything was fresh and balanced with great presentation

9/10Lovely restaurant, great service , chicken was slightly cold when served however ribs were amazing. Sadly they had run out of non alcoholic cider and non alcoholic gin early in the evening. A lovely evening was had by all

7/10It’s a reasonable price menu and two of my children had steak and it was beautiful, my steak was over cooked , fatty and horrible. The lovely waitress got me some chicken so I could still eat with everyone else it was nice. I hate to complain but I had to. Everyone else had a lovely meal.

10/10Staff are really friendly and very helpful. Harvester was clean all round .Even the staff on salad bar didn't give small portions. Food was nicely cooked and presented on plate well even meal sizes where where good.

9/10Service was very good, only complaint was that the chips were cold on one order but when we told the waitress she was very apologetic and soon had a fresh bowl as a replacement, so we have been to the harvester many times before and see no reason to not go again

9/10Excellent service from Ralph ! Food was lovely Only disappointment was the variety on the salad bar. I appreciate it makes sense for a member of staff to serve the salad to stop cross contamination but when I asked for cucumber&tomato I got 2 slices and 2 pieces of each!!! I guess the staff have been told to portion control for less wastage but that was ridiculous and felt greedy asking for a little more. Blue cheese dressing had been changed the taste wasn’t as nice as normal. The salad cart was always the reason I chose the harvester but this area was disappointing.

6/10The waiter was very friendly and fantastic but the menu had changed greatly since I had last been in there 18 months ago and it is very expensive considering it is a Harvester £13 for a burger £11 for a steak snack sandwich. Very disappointing. I won’t be returning
