9.5/10My friends and I have a meal here every few weeks for a catch up. This time, we arrived to find a brand new menu! The prices have rocketed somewhat, but the choices (as long as they haven't run out) are very good! I usually take pictures of everything, but didn't for some reason last night, probably too eager to get stuck in to my half rack of ribs and loaded chips - two new items on the menu which come under 'extra sides', or something like that. The ribs were 5.99 and the loaded fries were 6.99, and along with the free salad bowl there was more than enough to satisfy. The waitress who served us was new too, and was very pleasant and worked hard.

It's been a while since we went to The George and there have been a few changes. They've moved the salad bar, but still the same amount of food, presumably to make space for more tables and they now shut at 9pm. we were the only ones left by 9 to be fair, apparently there aren't enough bookings made after 9 to warrant staying open later. Food was good. Enjoyed the new garlic slaw! Service was good, no rushing us. It was a bit cheek to jowl when we arrived at 7pm, but was almost emptied out by 8pm. Enjoyable evening.

8/10Service and food were good, but the prices are extortionate, when paying for the food they make you feel obliged to give a tip, it doesn't seem to be optional anymore, staff work very hard.

We often go to The George for a catch up between friends. There is a large free car park (register inside the restaurant), the service us usually cheerful and fairly speedy. Tonight's salad bar was a bit disappointing, no beetroot, sweetcorn or potato salad, but I did prefer the bread rolls to the ones that are usually there. My main was chicken breast (slightly overcooked) with jacket potato, ratatouille and peas. Very delicious and filling. For dessert, it was a shame that the mini apple crumble with a drink is no longer on the menu, but now just the brownie or ice cream and a drink instead. A pot of tea, main, salad bar and dessert came to £22, which all said and done is quite reasonable.

2/10We arrived at the Harvester (George Inn) and the gentleman at the door checked us in. He passed the menus on a very inexperienced member of staff with maybe a couple of shifts under their belt. He escorted us upstairs, where he didn't know where table 63 was The area was very stuffy, hot and uncomfortfable, lacking of fresh air and no air conditioning. Twenty minutes or more passed before anyone came to take our order. The starters arrived before the drinks. We asked for tap water, we never got it, we asked for sparkling water we got still, eventually the wine arrived. The wine asked for was not available and we got given another one but no glasses which we then had to ask for. The main course arrived, of which the child's rump steak was a bundle of grizzle, and had to be returned. We then got given two glasses for the wine and had to ask for two more. When they arrived the staff member said (we have only two wine glasses, I have to give you two Gin glasses instead). The salad bar was a bit if a mess and many items empty. The bill took several attempts of back and forth to get it sorted, and ridiculously we got asked if wanted to leave a tip. Unfortunately we couldn't leave a tip for such an appalling experience. We have used this Harvester (George Inn, Morden) since its first opening 40 years ago and its gradually got worse and worse. It needs to go back to basics and train the staff properly and hopefully can be pulled back up to the standard it once was.

2/10As you obviously do not check whether or not we attended. Let me explain, as you left a voice mail message on my mobile less than 24hours before my booking time, cancelling the the 1.00 pm allocation as the restaurant would not be open until 4.00pm. We had no option other than cancelling our family birthday gathering and seeking an alternative venue at short notice. Disgusted, annoyed, angry etc. etc we will not be using or recommending The Fork outlet again

9/10It was a quiet lunchtime and the three of us chose the kids meals as we don't eat big portions and we like the salad bar. The waitress was very polite and helpful. The salmon was sold out so we changed what we wanted and it was lovely. Good food and just the right amount, leaving us enough room for a dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We'll be back.

5/10Staff were pleasant but some of them didn't seem to know what they were doing. Also things not available I.e no custard, we ordered a mojito which when it came had no mint or lime. Fudge brownie cake came cold and had to be sent back 3 times to warm it up

4/10Our dinners were cold. The meals came up to quickly. The meat was very substandard. My crumble had not been microwaved properly. You could tell that it had been done from frozen. I wouldn't reccomend it.

8/10Have been going to the George for many many years. Always been good. It’s a family friendly pub, so if you want a quiet meal, pick yr times carefully, can be quite noisy. The staff are very pleasant & the food is good.
