10/10Literally inside a west end venue. Great steakhouse with helpful and knowledgeable staff on hand if you need help with your steaks. 🥩 central London just outside the door. Excellent experience

7/10Booked online for this visit, taking an old friend to a new location for them. A few days later the Heliot called me to cancel my booking because they had the opportunity to hold a private party. If this was after my booking it was unethical; if is was before my booking it was incompetent. I advised them I expected them to honour the booking and spoke to the manager of the restaurant, making it clear that I expected the booking and the menu to be as requested. To the manager's accepted this position and assured me that there would be no problem with my booking. At the time of the booking there were very few people around and I saw no private booking customer! This was the worst experience I've had of this restaurant despite the rescue from the manager, which shouldn't have been necessary. The food was slightly below par for the place. This won't stop me visiting the Heliot, but should a similar attitude be repeated I would be inclined to find alternatives.

3.5/10Was very disappointed in my experience and meal. I called up earlier than my reservation time to ask if they could fit me and my partner in any earlier, they said absolutely come anytime. On arrival they said they have no space until my reservation time. So my partner and I waited 45 minutes at the bar. The staff were very nice, could not fault them at all. I asked for medium sirloin and my partner ordered the surf and turf. Upon arrival of our food my steak was very well done and not a sirloin. I asked to take my steak back as it wasn’t what I ordered, they then told me I had to wait 45 minutes for a new steak! I told them to just take it off of my bill. So I was left without a dinner. I also had to remind them we ordered drinks as they did not come until after our dinner was served. We also noticed on the bill at the end the surf and turf came with chips and my partner did not receive any chips with her meal. I was so disappointed as me and my partner were looking forward to this restaurant and travelled a hour to go here as we heard great things. Certainly was not the experience we imagined.

4.5/10I really wanted to like this restaurant, except of course whilst it is indeed a restaurant it’s mainly a Casino, and a very large one at that. We had to walk past the desperate looking clientele on gambling machines. Hmm. We had the £29.50 lobster/steak/prosecco deal. All good to begin with. Took a long while before the Prosecco came and then only because I asked. Food arrived and I have to say the lobster was delicious and large, but whilst the steak was exceptionally flavoursome it was very tough. I could have asked for it to be replaced but with the lovely fries, extra perfect onions and salad I’d had plenty to eat. It took an age to clear away and only because I asked. Why don’t the staff LOOK to see if they’re needed? I also asked for the bill. V v slow and Paul, our server, was extremely condescending. ‘Please let me serve (this table) first Really, when I’ve asked for the bill because I need to leave? . So so slow. I do not appreciate a passive aggressive attitude. I eat out before and after the theatre maybe 50 times a year. I’m no novice to London restaurants. . He knew he was doing this too. He did ask if he could give me a glass of champagne or a pudding, free, which was a very nice gesture but we needed to leave for the theatre and it was a nicely rehearsed line. Sorry Paul, but just because we are 2 ladies on our own doesn’t mean we need that type of ‘gracious’ attention.

10/10This place never let us down, Great food, ambience, and service. Paul was excellent and looked after us so well. The only problem is that time goes so quickly. It would be good to have dinner served in 2 hour slots, but that's just my personal preference, so I haven't marked it down

10/10The evening was excellent.. I had no idea the restaurant and bar overlooked the casino!! All staff were very pleasant and welcoming and was very pleased that when ordering drinks was asked if we would like single or double spirit measures… just presumed like most London bars would be doubles… We went with the steak lobster with presecco combo (£29) each, extra sides and we were all very happy with our meals, portions were ample so much so half of my steak went to my other half! A brilliant evening, thank you Heliot ????????

10/10Excellent evening spent in Helios. Had the special offer of Steak, Lobster and chips accompanied by a glass of very nice Prosecco. Gil our waiter was very attentive and efficient. Based inside the Hippodrome theatre, the buzz as people were leaving the auditorium was great and to top it off there are casino tables to enjoy a flutter if you wish to. Great find and highly recommended.

7/10The restaurant was ver clean and had a good atmosphere. I was surprised to find that I could not get the wine I wanted and had to visit the bar outside This was not a great start. We ordered medium/rare steaks x2 which were underdone. We sent them back for cooking a bit more and the staff replaced the chips and salad too which was good. The food was very good the manager came to the table with the bill and my husband asked if he could take the sweets off as we had had the problem with the steaks ( I thought they would have done that as a matter of course. None the less we were grateful. It hasn’t put us off and we would go again

9.5/10The food is great and the atmosphere is exciting. You can have a balcony view on top of the casino. The waitress got a bit lost in enthusiasm when she knew we were here for the set menu, but I understand her feelings, so that's ok.

8.5/10Wasn't sure what to think after reading alot of reviews but booked the steak & lobster offer & really enjoyed it. The steak was great, lobster was fine and the accompanying fries & glass of champagne were both delightful. We ordered the alaska to share for dessert & were both impressed, it was delicious! Great service on the night from Mery. Atmosphere is quite loud & vibrant seeing as the casino is on the ground floor but this didn't take away from the evening. We were seating further up and away so that helped.

6/10Have been visiting Helliot for many years and always rated it to be the best steakhouse in london. But I can confirm from my last 3 visits this is now far from the truth. I can only imagine the restaurant has been taken over by someone else as the level of quality of the food has dropped substantially. Will not be returning which is a shame

7/10Great food, the lobster was meaty, tasty, well dressed and also a fair size, loved it. The steak was great too. The service is abysmal, I asked 5 times to get tap water, I even told them I feel faint and still it took ages, same with other requests. They also refused to sub the chips, I can't eat these. Having said that the food is great for the price and I would go again. The ambiance isn't great - it's a casino but I don't mind.

4.5/10There was considerable noise level at a large table nearby. The thought process of putting a small two person table near a large loud group was not correct! Food was fair. Steak overcooked as ordered medium rare. Overall not the best experience.
