7.5/10The overall experience at this restaurant was more about the ambiance and decor than the food. The setting is undeniably impressive—unique architectural elements, elegant furniture, and well-designed lighting create a warm, inviting atmosphere that stands out. The intricately designed staircase alone adds a sense of artistry to the space. However, the food did not match the same level of excellence. The scrambled eggs were overly soft, lacking seasoning, and felt a bit flat. The croissant and pain au chocolat were average, not as flaky or buttery as expected from a place that puts such care into its design. The grilled tomato and black pudding were well-prepared but nothing beyond standard breakfast fare. It felt like the focus was more on the presentation than the actual flavors. In the end, I left more impressed by the atmosphere than the meal itself. It’s worth a visit for the aesthetics, but if you’re after exceptional food, you might be left wanting.

10/10We were treated extremely well from the moment we arrived - they allowed us to amend our booking as we were running late with absolutely no fuss. The staff are extremely knowledgeable - Ryan, our sommelier, made some fantastic recommendations on Champagne providing a range of options at a range of price points - we opted for a 1988 Vintage Moet and an extraordinary 1996 Bruno Paillard Grand Vintage. He was extremely engaging and offered fascinating background into the options available. Roberto and Zoltan were extremely attentive without being overbearing and at no point made us feel rushed, even when we were the last people in the restaurant - they insisted that we finish the experience when we politely offered to forgo the final course to allow service to finish - they’re proud of the food and want their customers to sample it all. The food was absolutely exceptional - the nest egg and trout course especially. Wonderful place, will definitely return soon. Thanks to Nikki as well.

10/10+1Went to celebrate my birthday, service was great and friendly - decor is nice and we had a lovely view of St James Park. Food was good quality as you would expect - it is on the expensive side but the quality was good so it was worth it. Don’t know if it was stand out enough for us to return - there are other places to try!

10/10My partner & I had a great Valentine’s Dinner at the Hide tonight. The Hide restaurant has always been one of our top 10 best restaurants in London. The Food & ambiance were amazing (as always) but the best thing about the HIDE is its STAFF. They are amazing, super helpful & friendly. Special shoutout / many thanks to Janos (our favourite sommelier), Jenny & Chloe for making our dinner a memorable one.

10/10Nice experience at Hide for breakfast. Beautiful venue, nice menu. Pricey but nice as a treat. I wouldn’t say it was a groundbreaking experience but it was nice and actually expected given the prices. Would come back for a special occasion.

2/10Food poisoning and no accountability! I took my boyfriend to Hide for his birthday meal at the beginning of January and although we had a nice time, we both became extremely ill with food poisoning afterwards. This meal at Hide was the only food we shared in the week before we started vomiting (within hours of each other) so I got in touch with Hide. I was met with complete denial and lack of accountability. After filling in forms and chasing people via email, they begrudgingly offered to have us back in for some free champagne and sides, which I found quite insulting as we obviously wouldn’t risk going back there. Also, not even a whole meal! Very poor show for a Michelin starred restaurant. Would recommend avoiding.

10/10Booked breakfast with a client/friend and everything from service, seating, food was just incredible. One of the best coffee menus I have seen in the West End and choice and quality of food was superb. Staff was smiley, friendly and efficient. Can't wait to come back!

7/10This will be a longer than average review, so scroll down for the final verdict if you are in a hurry and need to decide right now, on the spot, whether you want to book here or not. For us (me and my wife) it was the first visit to Hide, and we booked it way in advance to our 5 days Christmas Londen City trip. It came highly recommended and seemed like the appropriate place to spend a romantic evening with fine wining and dining. Not having been there before, it took us a few guesses to find the door to actually get inside. A nice gimmick we thought, given the name of the restaurant. But the enormity of the place was not what we had expected to find. The music seemed a bit too loud and choice of rock music seemed a bit off too. Don't get me wrong, I love rock music, but to me it is mire fitting to be played in a bar, than a fancy restaurant. The staff was verry attentive, took our coats and showed us the way upstairs. The stairs themseleves are the eyecatcher of the place, I must say. We got the menus and a quick brief that one menu was a special multi course one and the other the a la carte. There was no explanation on the multi course menu as to what specialities it contained (with it being Christmas and all) nor was there any mention of the possibility for an accompanying wine arrangement. We started to notice that things were moving fast in this place. Again something that in my opinion that should not be associated with fine dining. We decided to start with some olives and champagne and were asked if you also wanted to order the rest of our meal, but wanted to wait a bit. Scanning through the menu, we spotted oysters and decided to order some with caviar. As we already had our champagne, the speed with which our accompanying oysters came, was very much appreciated. We were asked again if we also wanted to order the rest of our meal. Feeling a bit pressured now, we ordered. The oysters were delicious. Within 5 minutes however, we were served our appetizers. A bit quick we thought. We had the barbequed clams and the ricotta tartalette which were both very nice indeed. As soon as one of our plates was finished it got taken away, while still chewing the last bite. This might be a cultural difference, but in our opinion it added to the hasty nature of things and made us wonder if there was a specific time we needed to clear the table for other guests... For our main we opted for the 50 day aged rib eye. There was the option of having black or white truffel. When ordering we were asked if white truffel was ok to be added. Truth be told we did not check the price of the white truffel and it turned out to be the same as the rib eye, 60 pound per person, just for the truffel. Again, the food was very nice, but the plates were not heated. And the rib eye being 600 grams, started getting cold a bit too soon before we finished it, becuase of it. And with the added truffel, for that price, you would expect the plates to be heated I think. After our main we got handed the desert menu and opted for the yule log and coffee. Again, both very nice. And to keep in the spirit of hastiness, after finishing, we got handed our check, without being asked wether we wanted a digestive or anything else. By that time we had decided to go elsewhere for a cocktail to wind down for being worked up about everything. We were in and out of Hide with an hour and 15 minutes, the fastest fine dining experience on the planet. So to summ it all up for the fast reader that has scrolled down: Food - very good All the rest - very disappointing Price - high, which is to be expected in a Michelin star restauarant, but 550 pounds for such a hasty meal, is not in balance when you talk about the price versus quality ratio. Afterwards we had some really nice cocktails at Kwant Mayfair, just around the corner. A very cosy place with the attention to detail, wound down pacing and small talk conversations with the cocktailshaker which was exactly what we were hoping for. And these things were unfortunately missing completely at Hide
